• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    drive belt now centerd

I set the tension and belt alignment with the rear wheel in the air, and it was perfect until I rode it about 100'. Now the belt is back against the flange. What did I do wrong?

    Modification of Krikit I gauge

5 Minutes with a Dremel tool OK, I have done the modification, and it works quite well. I am getting readings that are consistent with the Krikit II. Old-time sea captains always took 3 compasses on voyages. If 2 compasses didn't agree, the third would be consulted to see if it matched either...

    Modification of Krikit I gauge

What do you recommend? In this case, neither Krikit is really the right gauge.

    Modification of Krikit I gauge

I'm aware of the range differences between the two Krikits. I want to be able to get consistent readings between 75 lbf and 140 lbf, but the Krikit 1 is not designed for wide belts. It has a belt alignment lip on the side that keeps it on the v-belts for which it is intended. The Krikit I has...

    Modification of Krikit I gauge

If I remove the lip from the edge of the Krikit I in order to position it in the center of the belt to eliminate twist, how will the gauge precision change? Right now, the precision is not good. It's very difficult to get accurate, repeatable readings because you have to try to compensate for...

    Close call today

Scary! I'm glad you are safe. I hate to hear of injured (or worse) riders. When I was first learning to drive, my Dad said "If you just drive your car, you're gonna get in an accident. You have to drive his car, and his car, and her car," meaning learn to anticipate the stupid move someone is...

Spyder as a daily driver? Pros/Cons?

My 25 mile each way commute is a mixed bag. Close to home it's rural, but 10 miles out I'm in the city, and it gets worse as I get closer to work. No HOV lanes on the roads I use, so I sit in hot traffic a good portion of the drive. Traffic speeds are all over the place; I can be doing 5mph one...

    Twitchiness

Krispy Kremes?! You got Krispy Kremes? Our local Krispy Kremes place is now a Chick-Fil-A :(. We loved watching those tender rings of sugary goodness come off of the line. Fresh, hot Krispy Kremes are a little taste of heaven.

    drive belt now centerd

Belt position and rear tire alignment Is there any relationship between the belt gap and the alignment of the tire to the frame? Here's why I ask - the shop manual front end alignment pretty much ignores the rear tire. The front wheels are aligned to the frame. My belt took 3/4 of a turn of...

Intermittent ACS error when Spyder is hot

Looks like I've got a lot of work ahead. Didn't want to cross-post, so please read http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?97501-Thank-you-for-all-the-help!&p=1177843#post1177843

Thank you for all the help!

I am sure glad that there are so many well-informed people here that share their knowledge. The videos and written instructions of different procedures that members have published in SpyderLovers and uploaded to YouTube have been helpful time and again as I tear into the great unknown...

Intermittent ACS error when Spyder is hot

Nope, the sensor arm is connected properly. I snugged down the core of the Schrader valve; it was only about 1/8th of a turn, though. The pressure was at zero after one day, so there's a leak somewhere. I have the shop manual, so this weekend I'll see if I can find the culprit. It's under...

Stop talking about it! My bike will hear you and then I'll have to change the battery in mine, too! :yikes: :joke:

Intermittent ACS error when Spyder is hot

Lately I've been hearing the ACS compressor running way more than it should, and I get the "MANUAL" error when I try to change the setting. However, this only happens after I've gone down the road a ways and everything is hot. The system functions perfectly when I first start the bike. I...

    Brakes pulsing

Changed the brakes today My new EBC pads and rotors came in yesterday (Thanks, Ron!), so this morning I installed them. It took me longer than I anticipated because of the clips on the backs of the pads, and just because this was my first brake job on the Spyder. The torque on the lug nuts was...

Which are best brake pads for the RT

EBC! I've put EBC pads on my Ridgeline and my wife's first and second MINI Coopers, and my new EBC rotors and pads for my RT just came in today. Great stopping power is in store! BajaRon has the best prices around, and I looked hard for a better deal, but Ron beat them all. He delivers fast...

    Is Honda copying the Spyder?

This looks like it came out of a Transformers movie. The Japanese seem to really like that angular styling.

    Brakes pulsing

I placed the order with Ron today, so I should be able to change them this weekend. One little problem, though - my floor jack doesn't fit under the Spyder, so is it OK to use ramps instead? :joke:

    drive belt now centerd

Is belt tracking DIY capable? Looks like the dealer wrench messed up yet another item. There is zero clearance between the belt and sprocket flange on my bike. I can't see the inboard edge of the belt to check for scrubbing, but I suspect that there is some wear.
