• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What are the Shifting points for a 2009 Spyder with Rotax 990 motor?

Congrats welcome, agree with above & carry extra quart of oil - check regularly/frequently as 990's tend to eat some & more depending ryding style. (You have a SpYder, so now it’s rYding, not a spelling error. ;))

One particular experience set my friends in a bit of awe: While working with my dad (a Master Electrician & more) witnessed him torquing a large building frame bolt with one those larger (3-4 foot) pipe wrenches, and the wrench head broke under his strength.

    How Much Oil To Add?

Sorry, no actual measurements to offer always carry spare quart & funnel. Check at fuel stops, it varies depending on riding conditions, & conditions of the oil. Add sparingly while on the road unless you carry some form of pump so you can remove any excess (easier at home). Generally a hair...

2014 STL won't go into gear - any ideas?

Unfortunately also the soft metal gear shift arm can strip splines internally & also causing odd shifting -ultimately complete failure. If wobbles a little, is safe to go ahead & remove for inspection. Also helpful to replace bolt with longer one & a nylon lock nut to help crimp shift arm...

Right lights not working after repair - any ideas?

Sorry you had damage & a questionable shop. Cut wire not good, test if any power to either side, between wires, & a good clean frame point. Tape off/cap off for safety 'til you know more (you don’t have to strip & cure/expose any extra copper for that). No matching end for the connector? There...

My search for the perfect oil funnel? What's yours?

Well…… had a “custom” one after dog relocated it for me, gnawed on tip just well enough it threaded in, was handy. Alternatives/backup are FloTool found at tractor supply like $3, with a handy screw on the quarts. No mess when done, just leave on the jug & set upright. Haven’t had any bubble...

Loading your Spyder up a steep ramp?

Old thread... However, if possible, back the trailer up the curb so the tires are on the pavement & the loading lip is closer to the ground. It's a li'l driving on the grass, but hopefully, not so steep.

Friend discovered Tx actually has a '1 hand on bars' law a decade + ago, goofing off and texting his wife at the time. (I wasn’t present, was a discussion b4 another group ride!)

Got an Over heating warning at idle, went away riding - any ideas what could be wrong?

Agree with stated above, as well as my 998 V-twin - the ambient temp sensor has gotten too hot parked in sun, no airflow, (104° F, when it was actually only 70°) The sensor is located in the air box to adjust the fuel air mix.

Got the BajaRon rear caliper parking brake tool, need the two small stainless steel clips that hold pads - where do I order them?

I think that might be same kit I got in 2019 after breaking the “pin” Allen head bolt for pads. Sorry, I seem to have misplaced any other info...
