• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What should it cost to mount tires - this much??

I don't remember what the details were on the purchase, but I checked with the shop that does the little bit of car work that I need (Muffler Brothers) to see if he could/would do the tires. The owner of that franchise location is a motorcyclist, so I thought he might be able to do it. I also...

    Downshifting vs Braking

To add info to the debate referred to by BlueKnight and BajaRon: Most of my early cars had manual transmissions. As a younger "adult", I really enjoyed rowing through the gears, up and down. A co-worker commented on that by saying that while downshifting does add braking power and spares the...

Any recommendations for Spyder hauling Trailer rentals?

When we got my wife's Spyder a few years ago, I was not sure I wanted to hop on it and ride it 300 miles home as a "get acquainted" trip, so I looked for trailers. The best one I found was a U-Haul 6x12 open trailer. I found that trailer comes in two varieties: one has a modest ramp (which is...

Is there a seating position chart?

In a nutshell, the RT models have you sitting ON the bike. Rather upright, much like an older motorcycle. The F3 models are lower, feeling more like you are sitting IN the bike. It's a lot like cruiser-style motorcycles with the feet-forward posture. I don't know much about the ST models...

Any ideas on how to fix a Broken Hinge on a 2016 RT's R/H Pannier?

I might have done something similar to what BertRemington might show. One of the hinges on my sister's RT broke. Actually, the hinge was OK, it was the floor of the pannier that broke. I cut a piece of sheet metal to fit on the bottom side of the floor. Had to do some trimming around some...

Who Out There Has Gotten The Replacement Sprocket?

Dealer called me in early November to say they had a new sprocket for us. Took the Spyder down a week or so later, picked it up during the first week of December. Since this is the sprocket that I had had welded, I asked about the possibility of keeping it as a spare. Service guy said that if...

What year Spyder RT Ltd should I be looking at? We want a 1330??

I will agree with the "get the newest one you can afford" philosophy, but will add a couple points that were gathered in our search a couple of years ago. 1. The 1330 engine started with the 2014 model, as you have noted. There were minor improvements just about every year. 2. The 2018 model...

17RTL Top Box Strut - Re-gas or replace

I just replaced the strut on my wife's '17 RT-S. Got it through Amazon, would have to look up the order to see exactly what the model is. It definitely works better than the one that was removed. If I had found that I needed a bit more lifting power, I was going to order up a second set of...

Sprocket Final Fix Update from Shawn Smoak

I have had shaft-driven motorcycles since 1979. The "periodic spline lubes" on all of my bikes have only taken an extra 5 minutes at every rear tire change. Just use the proper lube (Honda Moly60 or the new Moly77) and there is no problem with lube interval lasting as long as the tire. Not...

Anyone ridden up & down Mt Evans, with a trailer?

According to this article, you will probably be OK: https://rvlife.com/rv-mount-evans-scenic-byway/ I did not see any mention of motorcycles with trailers, but it says that RVs under 30 feet long are fine. .

    A Message for the Moderators

In my time here, I have noticed a few "complaints". Some of them are valid concerns, others could be taken as nit-picking. I have not noticed any kind of trend of who is making these comments. If the "complaint" is about the Spyder, I think about whether I have noticed that, or even if it...

    Scam using scare tactic

Hang on to THAT dream. I registered my phone when I got it just over 30 years ago, then added my wife's phone when she got one a few years later. Also added our kids' phones when they got them. Not sure the scams slowed down at all. In fact, there were times that I felt that they increased...
