• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thinking about adding Centramatic wheel balancers to the front of my RT

We have them on the wifes F3 all three wheels. I just went to see how much balance weight the fronts had, and realized that I just had the Formozas mounted at Walmart (buy them online and mounting is included) and we never had them balanced. Easy peazy when I swap wheels or when we get a...

When Replacing Rear Tire Best To Replace Front Tires?

Ann recommended them on her F3--- Great tires with large rain channels, they roll smooth with Lamonster centramatic balancers and the price was right including free mount at Walmart. And you can swab the wheels side to side as they're nondirectional. Oh and they dont load up with gravel...

When Replacing Rear Tire Best To Replace Front Tires?

Fronts should last at least twice as long as the rear tire On the 15 RT I put new tires on at 28,500 miles- pretty good for the OEM Kendas. On the wifes 16 F3T she put new Federal Formozas on at 40,180 mi and if I recall they still had some tread on them. Her Federals now have 26,000...

    2020 F3 Ltd Fuel Economy

Rides Good The 27 psi cold works for me and my 220 lbs plus gear on the roads we ride - probably a little firm for some, but I got 22,000 miles on the last one. The wife rides her F3T and Altimax on the rear at 24 psi cold and we enjoy the twisties in the mountains with good grip. She only...

    2020 F3 Ltd Fuel Economy

Okay McRuss - I'll play your game. I like to tinker with the numbers, although my use of a General Altimax RT-43 rear tire on my 15 RT with 27 psi cold pressure in the rear tire will get a different number than what you will get with your specific setup. Next time I get on I-25 headed...

    Epic Spyder Fails

I frequently change oil, usually with the front wheels pulled halfway up ramps to give me a little room to work and to slide the oil pan under. After changing the oil and getting everything buttoned up, I pick up the tools, and release the parking brake to let it roll back into the garage...

air bag valve 2017 f3 limited

Sorry - on the 16 F3T it is under the pillion-- but on the 17 F3 Limited on page 55 in the manual it just says "air pressure is automatically adjusted" - Sorry I dont know? Maybe under the top case?? Is it removable??

998cc vs 1330cc fuel mileage question

We had a good tail wind coming back from the brother-in-laws in Kansas Sunday and drove from Lakin KS home - filled up this morning with 225 miles on the odometer and still showing 2 bars on the display. It took 5.15 gals for a one tank mpg of 43.6 for the 15 RT SE6 with 62K miles - we were...

998cc vs 1330cc fuel mileage question

Deptends on how you ride and model that the 1330/998 is in Like JayBros said the one of the factors is how fast you ride and what amount of wind resistance your model has. We put 76,000 miles on our 2011 RT with the SM5 and 998 combo and would get between 30 and 35 MPG depending on our speed...

Is there a "not less than" for RPMs on the SE6?

Downshift if you want to turn and burn - Torque bump abive 4500 RPM Most of the time I cruise and shift with the RPMs above 3000, but when you pull out to pass a semi at 60-65 its nice to drop a gear and get the extra 10 to 15 percent torque peak. But its worth noting you still have 80 lb...

What rear tire choice staying with the OE 225/50R-15?

Thanks for the detailed report on the Kanine rear tire - I had hopes that the wear longevity would be better, but sounds like while rolling well, it still has a somewhat softer compound. Hopefully others will post the total mileage when they need to change out. We have run many Kumhos on...

    Checking oil level info. Discrepancy

Best to let it idle for 10 mins The complete procedure and specs from BRP call for a 10 minute idle time after a minimum 10 mile ride so that the 3 scavenger pumps can stabilize the oil level. Since it only needs to be done about once a month on these 1330 engines, it is not hard to pull it...

2013 RTL oil consumption and was rung light

Not sure where all the excess oil goes on an overfull Rotax, but in general it can be whisked into foam in the crankcase when the crank spins into higher than designed oil level. Foamed oil will not be pumped as efficiently by the oil pumps, resulting in low oil pressure (light) and...

2013 RTL oil consumption and was rung light

First thing with Rotax dry sump engines is always check oil at Normal operating temp - that means after at least a 10 mile ride.... Then follow the manual instructions on page 127 for your 13 RT http://www.operatorsguides.brp.com/Index.aspx?lang=E&s1=4cf22d92-5d6c-4823-b06a-3ff030765937...

Is there a Trans filter change video for 2014 and up RT's?

I changed ours when I did the oil change closest to the 30,000 mile mark. I took my time and let the case drain overnight, and cleaned the ports and sealing surfaces and lightly oiled the rubber oring that the HCM filter port has that engages the case. Then just use the cross sequence to...

    Grasshoppers, bees and bugs

Looks like a good crop this year. Western Kansas, Texas and Okla panhandle we get the same thing The 2020's look like they'll scoop them up pretty bad... but the back of the radiator looks a mite more accessible to unbolt the fans and flush them back out, but still a chore to keep...

re Installation instructions for Lamonster belt tensioner?

I installed one on my 15 RT this spring.. Its pretty easy to see where it goes after you remove the long plastic left side panel. Just one top bolt and one bolt of the front side of the frame piece; and center the roller on the belt before you tighten them down. If you email Lamont, I...
