• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    List your Top 5 accessories

All the above are Mods work for how each individual enjoys their ride. Congrats on your limited and I agree the cupholder was one of the first adds to my 15 base RT. For me it made sense to also add the 1) Bumpskid, 2) Alignment 3)Spyder cuff (for drink holder/ 4) GPS, 5) Spyder Accessory...

    Kenda rear tire

I have always liked the Kumho Ecsta here in the arid west for its wear and roll, I got 23,500 mi on the last one. I have tried a couple of the General on my 15 RT and wifes 16 F3T and got 20,800 mi on her F-3. Both ride good and I believe both will hydroplane as JayBros said if water and...

    Passenger and performance

As Newtons second law states Force =Mass X Acceleration ; and therefore Acceleration = Force/Mass With a given force (hhp available) the acceleration will increase proportionally to a decrease in total mass moved like Mike said. If your talking an RT think 1000 lbs plus fuel, plus...

Why would you want an asymmetrical rear tire?

Go to a Rally and in addition to checking out other bikes mods, if you're interested in tires, check out the tread patterns and wear and ask the riders. Everyone rides a little different and often you can get a better feel for those that ride similar to you and what they like, not just the...

    Tire pressure equalizer ? ....

Temps Cold-- then after a ride ... I like them within 0.5 psi like the manual says.. but then I'm a little OCD :) I just use a portable air tank with the tank pressure about 20-25 psi to balance them out about once a month, about how often I wash the bike. I don't need to, but thats what I do

    Parking Brake again

The parking brake motor is mounted to the upper right side frame tube on the Spyders. The three possible culprits are the electric motor that drives the cable cam wheel, the switch, and on the RT's the WPM or Windshield/Parking control Module. I think that the switch module on the left...

    Catastrophic failure

I choose to run car tires after getting the useful life out of the OEM Kendas mostly for the longer wear life available from the harder compounds mostly found in car tires. Of the 16 rear tires used over the 220,000 plus miles, 7 have been Kendas and except for the 2014 model have given good...

    Tork number ?

If you use the T0RX25 on the front two bolts holding the side panels be sure to use wrist action and torque only as the brass nuts are easily pulled out of the composite flanges if you use a power driver or rachet.... also start the bolts back by hand to avoid crossthreading the brass nuts...

    Are Spyder's reliable

Nice report on your 15 RT and your maintenance skills. I also have the 2015 and have the same tires and have done the other maintenance you described. I also like the smoothness of the ride and the motor and am amazed at its not using oil still at 52,000 miles. I also had the DESS module...

    How safe?

My Yamaha 750 provided many memorable rides in the 70s, and met my wife then in the early 80s and after a few years work and life and a couple of close calls caused me to sell it. Then in 2007 my wife suggested we go look at the Honda Shadow and more good memories and many more miles of...

    Gearing differences between F3-L and F3-S ?

Ditto on the same MPG for the F3 with the 12% bigger Sprocket to the RT - we get the same mileage on the 16F3T as the 15 RT... also the wind drag is less on the F3 which helps depending on what windshield you run... the wife has the F-4 and I usually keep the windshield halfway down with a...

MY F3s Spyder only did 169 mile with one bar left, is this normal?

Biggest factor is how you ride... We fueled in Las Vegas, NM this morning with premium- 2016 F3T and 2015 RT and stayed in the Right Lane with the cruise set at 72 mph except for a few slower moving vehicles. Fueled in Pueblo with 212 miles 5.3 gals each and probably a little tail wind. My...

High pitched whine at 45 mph

Dont know about Mobil 1 grease, but here is what I found on the Super Lube site from Synco...https://www.super-lube.com/Content/Images/uploaded/documents/Compatability%20Charts/Super%20Lube%20Silicone%20Lubricating%20Grease%20with%20Syncolon.pdf It says Not Compatible with silicone rubber but...

High pitched whine at 45 mph

The wifes 16 F3T just had the front sprocket replaced with a new one after she complained of a whining noise under load/acceleration. The shop said the splines were wore and replaced the sprocket under warranty. Since then there has still been a whine/whirrring sound, but the belt alignment...

Strong gasoline smell after riding - is this common? Any fix?

Our 2011 RT would smell up the garage after a hot ride... like Safecracker says helps to know the year and model but other know much more details. The 1330 models have been much less odorous...

    Front Sprocket Failure

True - We are fortunate to have a higher volume dealer with two CanAm trained techs about 25 miles from us. We have had several issues with the 4 Spyders we've enjoyed since 2011, and even though I change oil and tires, brakes and clean and otherwise maintain them, Fremont has done the first...

    Overheating F3s

As your pics show the buildup is hidden behind the fans and hard to see and remedy without removal. Wifes 16 F3T was not as bad looking, but I still removed the fans to get to the inside face where I could suck, spray, and brush to help clean. The good thing was once the fans were out of the...

Rear Tire Suggetions 2015 RT Need Help

Willie - this is a pic of a Kumho on my 15 RT after 20,000 miles. I got another 3,500 miles before changing it out and trying some Generals on the RT and wifes F3T. She only got 21,000 on her General, and I have 15,500 on my General on the RT and will easily get 20,000 mi. The General is...

    Removing rear wheel

Wow, interesting pics on the corrosion of the aluminum adjuster blocks. The wheel change tear down is a good time to clean and inspect for this kind of damage and thanks to a dry climate out west, I haven't seen this type of damage. I do clean the spacer bushings in solvent, wipe clean...

    2nd NEW TIRE

This is the General Altimax RT43 on my 15 RT that I replaced the Kumho with last May. The Kumho Ecsta got 23,500 miles and so far the General has 15,500 miles and should get thru the rest of this year. The wifes 16 F3T only got 21,000 on her last General, but then she Hot Rods a little bit...
