• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone tried Slime in the Rear wheel? How did it work?

For the reasons stated above, I don't use any 'liquid' tire sealer. IF I was the use dynamic balancing, I would go with ceramic beads that won't leave a mess. Ideally, it's best to balance with stick-on weights.

2022 OEM RT S2S seat versus redone Russell Day Long seat.

Did you put in a stronger piston to hold up the seat?

Looking for another rider to join me on a Long distance tour, Windsor Ontario to Cape Breton to PEI to Newfoundland and back, July 2025!!!!

Ditto on finding the right partner(s) you can stand after a week or more on the road. Endurance, slab/by-ways, need for speed, sights to spend time, cuisine, and accommodations - all become known pretty quick!

Installing Garmin Zumo R1 Radar - any suggestions on where to run the wire?

FWIW, there's nothing behind the plate area but a lot of air and the tire. You can use a split grommet if you feel the need to seal the hole.

5 MOTORCYCLES THAT ARE NOTORIOUSLY EXPENSIVE TO MAINTAIN

I'm handy enough to do all the maintenance tasks that many riders bring to shops. That said, every bike I've owned (Brit, Ital, Jpn) was reliable and never left me stranded. None ever saw the dealer after sale. The Spyder has been just as reliable so I don't buy "Influencers" opinions.

Anyone tried a Ramp for the rear wheel to make adding air easier?

You can install a 2nd valve stem on the opposite side of the rim 180 degrees offset from OEM stem. Then when you go to put in air, you'll be able to access one of the stems without having to rotate the wheel.

What Communication devices do you use between rider/pillion & other riders in your group?

The group I ride with found the Mesh on the Cardo Edge a bit better for distance between riders than the Sena 50 Mesh. We have one guy that gets a bee in his bonnet and takes off from the group around the twisties. We can hear him giggling and hooting a half mile away - around the mountains...

Feedback on the new Forum Format?

I like the new style but wish the page length was as long as the old style before clicking 'View More' on the What's new forum.

2025 Trip Planning - Maine Mostly

Go to the West Quady (sp?) Lighthouse which is the eastern-most point of the USA. Might as well hit St John's and the reversing falls while in the area (passports please).

Planning a Pacific Coast Highway trip - looking for suggestions

Don't rule out some of the inland roads in Cal. Especially when you get closer to LA area. The Butler maps are good to have if you prefer 'motorcycle' routes.

What Communication devices do you use between rider/pillion & other riders in your group?

The wind squelch I was referring to was the VOX mic muting. Once triggered when using intercom, if there's any 'wind' noise, the VOX frequently stays open-mic and everyone gets to hear you breath. The Cardo VOX works correctly and mutes when voice is done.

What Communication devices do you use between rider/pillion & other riders in your group?

I agree with using what your usual group uses. BUT! The Cardo Edge is clearly a better unit than the Senas. I have both but have shelved the Senas (10, 20, &50) because the Senas ARE NOT WATERPROOF and WIND NOISE IS NOT SQUELCHED. The Cardo Edge IS both waterproof and the noise cancelation...

Any tips on removing all left side panels on 2020+ RT, especially the large panel?

I've done it both ways and prefer removing the smaller panel and floorboard before the big panel. You can reach the front scrivet easier with glossy off. It's a PIA to put back but harder if floorboard isn't removed and it's dirt easy to take off.

Planning a Pacific Coast Highway trip - looking for suggestions

You didn't say where in Oregon you want to go, so I'll offer Bend, Or. as a via city. From Denver Mile High Stadium you can take I70W to US40W to Co125N to Hwy239N to I80W to I84W to I86W to Hwy78W to US95S to Hwy78W to US20W. That is 20 hrs saddle time or 2 1/2 days at 8 hrs/day. From Oregon...

Which Lithium Ion battery maintainer - same Lead acid tender, or a new Li tender?

Lithium batteries need a battery tender/charger designed for lithium batteries. Tradition tenders/chargers can damage a lithium battery. Caveat: Some Lithium batteries are 'smart' and can survive traditional tenders.

Should there be a bolt thru these Empty holes?

Those bolts are the lower-back fixings for the big black panels. Whoever had the panels off last didn't replace the bolts.
