• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

On the Road and BajaRon end link came off - what size hex key needed?

Update: the L shaped wrench found at the venue didn’t tighten it down enough. It had worked its way loose 15 miles later. I was able to purchase a 3/16 hex socket and wrench and got them tight enough to make it back to Dallas without any movement. But the screw is starting to round out, and...

On the Road and BajaRon end link came off - what size hex key needed?

3/16. The venue we are at happened to have a tool shed and some good samaritans and I got it back on. The other side was loose too. When I get home, I’m putting some loctite on them.

On the Road and BajaRon end link came off - what size hex key needed?

I’m 5 hours from home and the below happened. I even have a hex set with me, but the set screw is somewhere between the 4 and 5. I think I can limp to a hardware store, but does anyone know exactly what size I need? I knew it was off when it bottomed out on a dip. There’s a pretty good ding in...

Urk... Frunk won't unlatch... Is this a common problem?

I did not know that. Nice!

Is there any way of locking the Glove box on a 2010-19 RT??

Agreed, I was referring to Woodaddict's mention of this locking the frunk. My key bezel on 2019 has symbols on it for showing lock, gas, and open frunk.

Is there any way of locking the Glove box on a 2010-19 RT??

My frunk (2019) is always locked. I have to release it with the key push down and turn. (Opposite way of the seat for gas.)

Is there any way of locking the Glove box on a 2010-19 RT??

Someone would have to know that's actually a glove box, and then spend time prying it open. I do lock the glove box and bags when I stop, when I remember. I have even mistakenly left my key in twice during dinner, and come back to find it still there, but I know it only takes once. But I...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I used this, which is sticky on the back already: https://a.co/d/aUFN0zy

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Today I also lined the top of my “glove box” with some heat reflective insulation to hopefully keep the sun’s radiant heat out of it. I’ll never be a professional vinyl wrap guy, but I don’t think I did too bad with all the multiple angles and such.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I installed BajaRons magic magnetic mirrors and some safety tethers I bought 12” 45# fishing leaders and the marine connectors as shown off AMZ. (I had to file the each of each mirror screw just a bit using a drill and some sandpaper to get the screws to fit in the mirror sides.) Easy enough...

Any helpful tips for installing a Lamonster Belt damper on a 2022 RT?

It's not as bad as you think. I can get all the plastic off in front of the saddlebags in about 15-20 mins. But yeah, what they said... not all screws are identical, there's a few shorter ones, and ones to easily forget about, so keep 'em straight, and take notes or pics or something.

Any helpful tips for installing a Lamonster Belt damper on a 2022 RT?

Ah, that's very true. My vibration is usually at higher speeds under acceleration, say at around 70 through 73 or so. Then if I'm doing say, 75, and accelerate to pass, it will start, then stop again as I let off the throttle or reach speed. Sometimes I will notice it very briefly when...

Your Weather News @ August 2024

8/15: I hate to admit it, but Texas is just too hot to ride except early morning. 101+, high humidity. It's not supposed to break for at least a week.

Any helpful tips for installing a Lamonster Belt damper on a 2022 RT?

I am following this thread because I have what I'm pretty sure is a fairly significant belt vibration at various speeds. (My tension is right in spec.) It seems people are of mixed opinions if they are worth it or not. I still have not found a consensus or reached a decision.

Any helpful tips for installing a Lamonster Belt damper on a 2022 RT?

Wellll ...... in an effort to unite both sides of the aisle... Technically, both dampener and damper seem to be correct: According to Cambridge, "dampener" doesn't even have a definition to mean "to make damp", while the OED says the only definition is a device used for damping linen, and...

Slingmods Adjustable Backrest - who has one and what do you think?

I also have the Utopia backrest. I changed their bolt to a removable marine pin so that I can add or take off the backrest as I see fit. When my lady is in the back, sometimes I want to be able to have her hug me as we cruise!

What should I look for in a mesh jacket? Any Pros & Cons?

I'm wearing the AMZ Wicked light tan/mesh one, and like it quite a bit. Also have the matching pants and wear those on longer rides.

Ditto, these solved my problem completely. I also redid the insulation on the front panels.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Not today, but a couple weeks ago. I forgot to take pics. I had the plastic off today so snapped a pic. I scraped all the old rotting insulation off these two panels and replaced it:
