• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Why hasn't BRP/Can Am looked at a Full automatic transmission for Spyders?

Well... I'll be... What will they think of next? :roflblack:

Why hasn't BRP/Can Am looked at a Full automatic transmission for Spyders?

BRP Spyder investigation started. What will happen?

So are you saying that no matter how full the tank is, the problem's cause (as you describe) will occur anyway? It will occur with a half, one-quarter, or nearly empty tank? Seems to me, there would be a specific maximum amount of fuel one could put in the tank to avoid boiling fumes getting...

    should Stewart be held accountable?

This incident is going to be discussed for years. It was a terrible and unfortunate turn of events. My guess is, there are going to be some rule changes after this; and maybe there should be, now that someone has died. No matter whose fault, I feel bad for all involved.

Plastic bag melted to my exhaust

Oven cleaner to remove plastic? Are you people for real? Geez... It will NOT remove plastic. Where has the common sense gone with people these days. Unbelievable... :yikes: Seriously, you were given the best advice with the heat-gun (not a hair dryer). It will remove the plastic.

    Back road riding with motorcycles

Your hip problem may prevent you from positioning yourself for the tight curves, however, as mentioned, you need to at least try to lean toward the inside of the curve. Right-turn... lean forward and to the right handlebar. Vice-versa on left corners. However, if you find this difficult to...

    non-ethanol gas

Just for the record; the U.S. Congress did not extend the tariff and the tax credit, allowing both to end on December 31, 2011. I assume when you say you are getting 100% gas you see a sign stating "Ethanol Free" or "Recreational Fuel". I always thought it was ethanol-free if it didn't have...

Optimal shifting range for the 1330

Despite some on here that admit they do not think... I can see where you are wanting to operate your Spyder with some thought about performance and safety; and in a fashion other than as a golf-cart or a glorified 'Hoveround'. :roflblack: The clutch lock-point at at 3200 (+/- 200) is not...

Shifting problem with my touring St spyder

The three items I would add to the list after checking your oil level is the following: Double check to make sure you are not in "Trailer Mode". This might not be the situation though, since you state it only happens once in a while -- however, I would make sure. It will change the shifting...

another video from the brp owners event, short with disclaimer from last

The naysayers need to take a break and crawl back into their myopic world where they can be delusional in the thought of controlling the actions of the world to their satisfaction. Oh yeah... get off my lawn while you are at it!!!!! Geez... and supposedly these are adults? Seth...

Seems the old-saying still holds true... Anyone that goes faster than you is an maniac; while anyone that goes slower is an idiot!:roflblack: I liked both videos...

Yes, Bob Denman, now that you mention it

That only means he can change his ways and take a nice, long leisurely ride each morning before arriving at work. There is no rule that states you cannot get up a bit earlier and ride a bit further than your work requires you to. :roflblack:

The way it was described to me was to immediately push and hold the MODE button for a few seconds after shutting down to turn the radio on. Turn the Warning Flashers on and off to turn the radio off.

    Spyders Underpowered?

Given who you said made the statement, their reference to power is directly associated to low-end torque. Spyders do no have it. I dare to say, not even the 1330's compared to a big V-Twin (I know... because I own one and have had many over the years). Americans, in general, grew up with...

WARNING -SPYDER RS SE5 2012 WARNING

Seriously Bob? I believe I have remained quite consistent in my opinion and recommendations, and have done my best to support the opinion. In fact, I believe most have remained consistent. Glad you think it is funny. Maybe you'll eventually find a Spyder that can be in sixth-gear at 1000...

WARNING -SPYDER RS SE5 2012 WARNING

4th gear at 45 is NOT good Bob -- despite your opinion. You do not begin to have power until 4500 rpm's. A lot of people are hung-up on making sure they at least are at the clutch-lock rpm's (3200 +/- 200) -- however one will find they will eventually have drivetrain problems if they run...

Dragon and the " RATTLER "

I have used this guy's maps before. He (Wayne) is a great guy and lives and rides that area every day. His maps cover all of the popular roads; but even better, he includes roads less traveled that are many times just as good if not better than the popular routes. He can be emailed and will...
