• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Throttle Body Caput - Vidal Junction, Ca.

When checking plane fuel for contamination, we use a drip-cup to extract fuel from the bottom of the tank. If there is water in the fuel, it will show-up at the bottom of the tank -- therefore it will be in our drip-cup. So, it makes sense the fuel could have been contaminated given your...

Finally the new Spyder is here.

Learning curve is not that steep... you'll do fine. However, there are differences that many motorcyclists have a more difficult time getting used to. The most major one has been resolved with your purchase of the '14 1330 engine. You'll get there faster than you may think. Congrats on...

Throttle Body Caput - Vidal Junction, Ca.

Were these TB's ever replaced previously? I have a 2011 and had the TB replaced. Just want to know if I am facing another round of this problem. Thanks...

Throttle Body Caput - Vidal Junction, Ca.

My WAG is "Operator Error"! :roflblack: There is not a code for Jerbear-operation; so my guess cannot be discounted yet, since there is not proof I am wrong!:D I certainly do hope it isn't something as simple as the brake sensor needing attention. Not sure how many miles on your machine, but...

53 years of 2 wheels - first impressions of 3.

It sounds like you shifted your bike tightly, if that makes sense. A lot of people do, and I am one of them. So I understand what you are saying. In comparison to a tight-shift technique, the paddle-shifting does lag. However, as you said, you can compensate for it. I typically try to...

    Trailer Tie Downs

You seem to be hung-up on comparing a Spyder (3-wheel vehicle) to a two-wheel vehicle. A two-wheel vehicle does not have the same stability. Also, a two-wheel vehicle, when its suspension is allowed to bounce in excess when tied-down, will possible slip-out from under itself. This is not true...

Trying to break the harley addiction

Anytime you ask a question such as the OP did on a site like this you are going to hear responses straight from the side of the brain influenced by "owner bias". The OP has a good question regarding the comparison of the two choices, but some take it as an opportunity to attack people and...

    The Ultimate mistake????

I have to say I agree with these two posts. If a $1,000 seat isn't working for you; and given the type of pain you describe, I am fairly sure no seat is going to solve the problem. I have a long history of major spine issues and can tell you a comfy-seat can only mask a much bigger problem...

    How much do you speed?

You pay for a lot of things that you are not allowed to use at your discretion.:banghead: In Illinois is is illegal to be in the left lane for more than three-miles at a time. :banghead: Most people were taught that the left lane is NOT a cruising lane, no matter your average speed; but...

**** "DO'S & DO NOTS" for NEW SPYDER OWNERS... ****

I thought you were intending for me to include the alignment suggestion to the OP; which is why I said what I did. I was not intending to offend you if I did. Personally, it appears the alignment IS a must-do for Spyders though, given all the good responses from those getting it done. I know...

**** "DO'S & DO NOTS" for NEW SPYDER OWNERS... ****

I inserted a note about this point, based on your suggestion. It slipped past me... sorry. This is something I would defer to those experienced riders owning the 1330's and what their final thoughts are. I found most dealers have no clue as to how to operate the previous models within their...

    Engine Warm Up?

As with any engine, you should wait a reasonable amount of time, considering the temperature the Spyder was stored in, to allow for the fluids to properly flow and distribute themselves throughout the their system. However, I am fairly sure you do not have to wait as long as you indicated --...

    Harley-Davidson Penster

The HD reverse trike, as mentioned, was put together years ago. HD officially stated it would not go into production unless they could get a computer system complex enough to handle the requirements the bike needs to be effective and safe. Without it, they are not willing to market it. I...

    Do's and don'ts for 2014 Spyder

I will add info, suggestions, and pointers to that thread as I see them posted here. So far the main difference appears to be that you do not have to be conscientious about the shift-points with the new 1330's as you would with the 990 series engines. And, so far, the heat issues seem to...

    NOT happy with BRP

When you see threads like this, it surely must equal bad-days at BRP's public-relations department. nojoke I have watched the perception of Spyders slowly but surely decline in the minds of their potential buyer's market. Lately I hear more and more questions related to whether I have had...

Harbor Freight 1500 lb ATV lift failure!!!!

With all due respect for the OP; but I hope he didn't errantly forget to check the lock on the lift. On HF lifts their lock has a tendency to get in the way of letting the lift lower. I have caught myself scratching my head a couple times when not paying attention wondering why the lift will...
