• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Airflow panels for 2013 ST-S

Just called Jennifer. She gave me a claim number. Called dealer but I'm not positive they understood the issue. Jennifer told me the reason they never contacted me was that I sold the bike. That was certainly news to me. I think what happened was they called the first owner. I bought it...

New Airflow panels for 2013 ST-S

I'm going on six weeks now and still have not heard from BRP. Well, I guess I did hear something. After trying to contact BRP for over three weeks, three weeks ago Steve sent me this: "Hello Craniac, I've assigned your case to a senior rep and they will be the one getting back to you...

BRP Spyder investigation started. What will happen?

If you ride long enough, the fuel WILL get HOT. It will boil and cause gas fumes. Wrapping the exhaust pipes helps, it takes longer for the fuel to boil. But ride long enough and even wrapped pipes get hot. Others have tried filling the tank with cool fuel just before parking. They seem to...

BRP Spyder investigation started. What will happen?

After installing the two fuel filters in the evap line. I intentionally topped off the tank. There was some liquid in the first filter but never any liquid in the second filter. But the bike still spewed gas fumes to the point of liquid dripping from the hose. I have relocated my evap...

BRP Spyder investigation started. What will happen?

I debunked that myth quite awhile ago. Overfilling does NOT cause the problem. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?65917-My-Attempt-at-the-Fixing-the-Horrid-Fuel-Smell&highlight=horrid The problem is too much gas vapor caused by too much heat to the gas tank. The air filter...

    Another Heat Thread

The charcoal canister is supposed to trap the vaporized fuel. Then when the engine supplies a vacuum, the stored vapors are sent to the intake manifold where they are burned. The system is not adequate as designed. There is obviously a problem. I believe the manufacturer should address the...

    Another Heat Thread

Somewhere around 95. I had the bike in for some warranty work and the tech told me the bike was supposed to vent fuel. He implied that mods would void the warranty. I would think that a 25 degree improvement would help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Another Heat Thread

The liquid is the raw fuel that dripped from the overflow. The dirt in the container helped make the fuel more visible. There were also several drips on the floor. I know 107 is on the "hot" side, but it happens often around here. Before I started making heat mods, the bike would spew fuel at...

    Another Heat Thread

Went for 230 miles ride today. 93 when I left 107 when I got home. Tried to take a video of the raw fuel vapors gushing out of the overflow hose. But the video isn't real clear. So I placed a dirty plastic container under the hose. Checked it about 20 minutes later and it had raw fuel...

    Lost inside wheel cap cover

Lost one of mine when a Jack Rabbit decided he wanted a closer look at the suspension. I was able to find the lost cover. Several of the ears on the back of the cover are now missing. I don't think it will stay on for very long. I plan on adding some silicon to the back to keep it in place...

    Under seat ??

Don't pull it! It is the ejection seat. Your passenger will not be amused. Of course the lawyers got involved and forced BRP to install the ejection seat handle under the passenger seat so that no unintended ejections would occur. Actually the first two answers were correct.

    Cat bypass alternative...

I think a smallish hole could be drilled in the front of the cat. Perhaps less than an inch. Then the guts knocked out of the catalyst. Getting the pieces out could be a problem. Then have the smallish hole welded shut. While you are inside the cat, drill several more smallish holes through...
