• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Intake Support Bracket Fell Off

The fiche diagram had me baffled and you took a stab at identifying it for me. That sort of effort on your part is greatly appreciated. I apologize if I offended you.

    Intake Support Bracket Fell Off

That's it! Thanks Lamont. That is indeed the detached piece that I am looking at. Now I just have to route around and see exactly where it is supposed to be attached to the engine casing and I should be good to go.

    Intake Support Bracket Fell Off

The Intake Support bracket (refer to assembly item 46,53,54, - diagram below) has "disengaged" from its mounting position on the engine. I am assuming that this happened while I was shifting the air box to remove and replace the front cylinder spark plug wire. Unfortunately the shop manual...

    New thermometer...

Nice Look The build up of heat underneath the Spyder's tupperware is significant, and you may find that the ambient temperature reading on your thermometer might be significantly skewed as a result. My digital temperature gauge is mounted in the same location that you chose, but I had to run...

Front Cylinder Spark Plug Boot Removal

Ditto Freeing up the Front Cylinder spark plug boot from the plug is just not happening. I too will need to remove the air box and side lateral support in order to get in there with a knife to be able to separate the boot from the plug. The new wires and iridium plugs, courtesy of BAJARON, are...

    Oil Changed Idea - Redux

Ideas, such as the one you initially submitted, about saving dollars on maintenance are always welcomed. If an idea ends up working for you it is good to share. There will always be replies to any DIY idea posted, and normally people on this forum are quick to ring the alarm bells to new owners...

    SPYDERFEST 2013 "The New Adventure"

We have attended the last two Spyderfest events in Cuba, and the question I continually asked myself during the week was " How do they manage to carry out all of these activities for what we paid in registration fees?" The planned activities are truly non stop from the beginning of the...

Front Cylinder Spark Plug Boot Removal

I am attempting to remove the spark plug boot on the front cylinder spark plug so I can remove the plug for replacement. Unfortunately, after multiple attempts to disconnect the wire from the plug I am afraid that any further brute force might damage the spark plug wire. Not something I want to...

    Help and Information

Agree with everything rc said. Heavier shocks, such as the Elka's, will reduce the body roll during aggressive cornering. Cranking your stock shocks up to 4 or 5 will give you a stiffer ride and reduce body roll in cornering. I found the biggest difference with the change to the Elkia Stage 1R+...

Any idea where the 12 volt outlet will be?

Battery Location Has the battery position been moved to a housing behind the front trunk or just the jumper cable posts that used to reside under the seat? I looked at the 2013 RT (popped the trunk and removed the service panel) and all I was able to see were the jumper cable posts. Anyone...

    Glorider on--off

The units are activated by a combination of motion, and lack of light. In short, they will come on when it gets dark and the wheel is in motion. Mine tend to stay on for approximately 1 minute after I roll the bike into the garage after an evening ride. Prior to installation I would recommend...
