• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Chrome or Blacked-out - am I the only one who likes Chrome??

Ours is a 2014 chrome edition. The only thing I don't like about is the stupid design of the trunk.

Is an Aerostich suit the way to go? Or not?

This may not answer your question entirely, but I am in the ATGATT (all the gear all the time) group. If there is a chance you can be knocked off your ride in an accident, the protective gear is a must. Whether it be two wheel or three, sliding down the pavement with just jeans and a t-shirt for...

Lone Ranger and the ''Peacebreaker" Exhaust!

Google it; you will find many examples of private citizens and businesses that are tired of the noise made by loud bikes and cars. Hence the negative attitude towards the noise. That negativity, is reflects on all bikes (and trikes) regardless of the, source whether it be government or...

Lone Ranger and the ''Peacebreaker" Exhaust!

So, why then, are so may venues (including national and state parks) prohibiting bikes with loud pipes? It's happening and is a valid concern. They are not necessary and not welcome by the majority of civil people.

Lone Ranger and the ''Peacebreaker" Exhaust!

If you are going with the "loud pipes save lives" myth; you need to study the science. that is one of the biggest myths in the motorcycle industry. It simply is not true; the physics of sound waves and sound proofing of modern cars does not support it. If you are doing it because you like the...

What Kind of Rider are you?

Didn't see a category for me. I ride year-round solo but only in fair weather. Wife only rides a few times a year in fair weather above 75°.

Do you own another motorcycle besides your Spyder?

Yup. Still have two Honda Rebels, (a 250 and a 450) that are actually sold but still in my shop for now. Also have three beemers, a '79 R80S, a '00 R1100S, and my primary ride, a '00 R1200C. The Spyder gets duty when my old hips and knees say so.

    Fall colors ride

I had hopes of finding some nice fall colors to share from today's ride. Sadly, the long hot and dry summer has left us with very little in the way bright colors this year. These shots were taken around Lake Meredith in the Texas Panhandle. At least it was picture perfect day with a high of...

Automated mailed ticket.... But I wasn't there!

Several years ago I started getting notices from the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) for a non-payment on a road in the DFW area. The tag number they claimed to have matched the one on my BMW R1100S, however the tiny little picture they included was so small it was unreadable. I tried to...

Questioning wearing Ear Plugs while riding

Just a few points to ponder. 1. Most of the foam ear plugs you buy in sporting goods stores/departments only eliminate ~32db 2. Most ambient noises that could cause you to have to react in the name of safety are going to be much louder than 32db 3. Custom made foam plugs only eliminate...

Any ideas on Mounting extra auxiliary LED headlights?

My take away from this is you are looking for a place to mount lights that you already have with a single mounting bolt. I had a similar dilemma when looking for a good spot to mount some driving lights on a motorcycle several years ago. I wanted the down very low and separated as far as...

I may have misinterpreted Peter's response but I thought it was referring to the check key error causing the need to disable the DESS.

    DESS Key code again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, I gave that a shot, but the only picture I found was of a 2020+ and I need a shot of a 2014 or 2015 so my friend knows what to look out for. Thanks for the advice nonetheless.

    DESS Key code again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone have a picture of the Check Key display so I don't have to scroll through this entire thread looking for one? I need it to share with a friend who just purchased a 2015 RT-S so he knows what to look for and get his DESS deleted when the time comes.

Need advice on Changing Rear Tire on a 2021 Sea to Sky...

I bought my last full set of tires at Walmart. They mounted and balanced the fronts but stated they were unable to balance the rear. I was planning on using Ride-on sealer/balancer anyway so did that and everything is silky smooth.

Urgent!! Ryder needs help near Flagstaff AZ!!!!!

If you can put his location here once he is settled in a motel, I can put out a Chrome Alert on the North American Biker Rescue Facebook page. We have over 21000 member with pins on our ZEE map. As soon as I have that location to share, I will start tagging members nearest to him to see what...
