• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My very old Garmin GPS is not usable in sunlight, will newer ones work better?

I have a Garmin 765 that is about same vintage. I have used it for years on the bike. In settings there should be a way to brighten up display. Also you can make a "hood" that goes over it that will help. As for the waterproof, quart zip lock if need be.

Are there any Ear Buds with Remote control for basic functions?

I don't have BT ear buds, but I would think you could control your ear buds thru your "device" which is your phone. I am using a SENA and wired "in ear monitors" which are basically ear buds. I have been wearing them for several years. Like you, the helmet speakers just don't cut it, the ear...

Is there a Code Reader for the Spyder?

Victory and the Motor Company are same way. Proprietary code reader system.

Oh my... lower psi in car tires on Spyder's really works!

Nope They have a high paid "engineer" to figure that out. Before we had them hacks we used a pyrometer and tread depth gauge.

Time to drain the engine oil - do I need to warm it up again?

I know I know, it's an old thread. But here goes. If bike last ran at temperature and sits, would not the bad stuff be mixed and settled into drain area? So I'll go with the salad dressing picture. Shake and mix, then store bottle with the drain (cap) @ bottom. Open at later time and let me know...

F3T died rapidly after sitting 2 months, now no start - any suggestions?

On the voltage/battery thought. The CAN buss stuff is/can be very picky about how much voltage it can get when needed. Although the battery has enough juice to turn starter over, the electrical systems like steady voltage source to the ECM ignition while this is going on. The Victory's have been...

Where do you store your Cell phone??

    RAM mount on left handlebar.

    How Do You Ride?

Defensively. I try to stay off the slabs if possible. I would say in general 5 mph over posted. But sometimes that wont even keep up with flow.

Where is everyone getting SE5 Oil Filter and Oil these days?

Have used the T-6 full syn for years in all sorts of bikes. Always available somewhere for reasonable price. Even though there was a post around the owners manual says you dont have to use JASMO oil, I'm sticking with it. Lucas and Amsoil are also good. Watch for sales of your choice. Filters I...

Who built their own plug & play system for adding accessories?

I built a 2 plug USB that I built a bracket mounted on handlebars. I used the customer access power supply under left side panel. I needed more than the amperage supplied by the one in the glove box for my GPS. I found this out on my Victory. So bought correct power converter/supply and wired it...

What do you carry for Travel Snacks?

LOL Southern MRE. Never heard that one. The wife likes the Lance Cheese/peanut butter crackers. Kirkland small beef sticks, fruit snacks and water. Those are the mainstays.

Has anyone tried a Protek Battery for their RT? Is it a good one?

So not positively sure, but I know in the automotive world of batteries there are like 3 companies that make batteries. Everyone else just slaps their name on those. Now if you go global there are probably 100's. Last couple I think I got off Amazon. Get the most amperage you can.

I've just Added Lights to our F3 Spyder!

Last nite when I got the chance, I pulled out on our street. OMG the amount and color of the light was something else. I actually think if you were on a 2 lane I would have to turn them off. They are a much brighter white than the OEM headlights. And I thought those were a nice brite white. I...

White knuckle test ride - can I learn to like this? Buy newish or older/cheaper?

I recently moved from a big Victory touring bike. My first couple months my neck hurt, my wrist ached and arms ache. It takes a bit to loosen up what we are used to on a 2-wheeler. For me, I have found position in lane is a big factor. The crown or wear pattern in a lane can cause the Spyder to...

I've just Added Lights to our F3 Spyder!

I just added some driving lights to our Spyder. Was not sure how I wanted to do it so checked out some forums. I decided to go with mounting them on the upper A Arm. I have been noticing more and more bikes around here running amber lights in like the fog light area. Like HD aux lights and the...

Gulp, I just contracted for a new (old) 2023 RT Limited, now what?

Welcome. What area of Fla are you? I'm in the Daytona/St Augustine area. I ride way too much to worry about a battery tender, unless it's going to sit for weeks and months, I don't see a need for one. On the GPS there should be a power port available just under the left side. That's where I...

Cannot get the rear pulley to seat properly - any ideas?

Not experienced with the dampeners on these yet. But I did have a Yamaha Venture that had a similar type cushion drive. What can happen with these is after they are in position for say 10k they get a "wear pattern". They may or may not go back into "any" slot, as they just fit where they have been.

Are Dealers 'dumping' New-Old-Stock Spyders instead of selling latest models?

Back a couple years now Yamaha changed their touring bike from the tried and true V 4 water cooled all of us liked, to a V twin. Went over like a fart in church. 3 years later they were still selling "new" Transcontinental touring bikes. So they have to get rid of them somehow. If you like the...
