• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    tire pressure

Hmm, I have been running 20/30 consistently and my tires are not down to the wear bars yet at 18,000 kilometres. :dontknow: Bruce

I laughed, I cried. I picked up my Spyders today...

That's a shame, but.. I am sure the dealer will rectify the problem quickly. The likeliest culprit is a bad sensor, possibly the gear position sensor, or as Spyder1026 said, it might be the DPS update. Either way, they should be able to determine the problem after hooking the Spyder up to the...

    Sticking "M" button on panel

:agree: After reading about the issues others had with the dash mounted "M" button, I have never touched mine. I just use the handlebar button. Once you get yours sorted out, I would recommend you leave it alone and rely only on the alternate "M" button. Bruce

    industries7?

John, this link worked for me: http://www.industries7.com/pages/NProduct.jsp It looks like you will need the SRX999 rack for mounting the top case with your V35 bags. Bruce

Can I Really Afford a Spyder?

:agree: Couldn't have put it better. The maintenance costs for my Spyder have been substantially higher than on my previous bike, a Kawasaki Concours, but I don't regret my decision to buy the Spyder a bit. Cheers, Bruce

    Givi and BRP bag tips....

Superior, unless... ...you also want to put on a top box, in which case the PLX setup from Industries 7 is better. The BRP setup is cleaner, no question, but I never remove the cases unless I am washing the Spyder anyway. :dontknow: Cheers, Bruce

Fly and Ride part 2, long

Congrats on your purchase! :congrats: Bill, I would not recommend using a power washer on the Spyder or any motorcycle, for that matter. The flow is so strong, it is too easy to force water where it shouldn't be and blow out grease from fittings. I have never used anything stronger than a...

Tow Dolly. Okay to use with Spyders?

Don't do it! Absolutely not a good idea. :lecturef_smilie: It will certainly play havoc with your wheel bearings and final drive, even if the Spyder is in neutral. Bruce

    First thread on forum

Welcome! Hi Danny, welcome to the wonderful world of the Spyder! welcome The RT-S looks like an awesome machine. I will probably be looking at trading up to one of those babies in a few years myself. Bruce

Same luggage, different badges. They should be interchangeable. Bruce

    Givi and BRP bag tips....

Don't hesitate. The bags are great, and these are very minor issues. I rode through the same weather conditions, and I didn't have any problem with mine. I do lubricate the locks on a fairly regular basis, though. Bruce

    HUGE KUDOS TO SCHRONCE POWERSPORTS!

Hear, hear! And as to the guy who ran into him, what a D.F. move that was! Goes to prove once again that some of the most incompetent riders in the world lurk around the Dragon. :yikes: Bruce

    PSI For Tires in General

Prior Thread There was a thread on this topic some time ago, and the general consensus from most riders then was that they are running 20 front and 30 rear. This is with the stock tires, of course. The automotive tires some are putting on will probably require a little more pressure. :dontknow...

    one crazy ride

Yes, actually I think there are four guys and one woman. I also noticed the five in some shots, and assumed there must have been a tripod set up. Bruce

    one crazy ride

I am guessing it is the riders themselves who shot the footage. It looks like a fascinating movie. Kind of an Indian version of "Long Way Round" and "Long Way Down." Bruce
