• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Missed the brake, almost crashed.

Good Thread Thanks, all. I worry about that big old boot that may be wet and slippery on that little brake pad. I'll start looking for options. -Bill

    No Mode Button Push Needed...

My 14 RTS does this It seems erratic to me. I turn on the key and then do the ear plugs. helmet, coat, gloves, and then see if the mode button needs to be depressed. I'll start paying attention to whether the engine is hot/cold etc. -Bill

    Crash

I think it must have been Lugene. She and her husband Larry were the event hostess and host. I registered but was unable to attend, and this note below was at the bottom of a followup email. "William, for your information... Lugene is with my mom in a neck brace ... She was released from...

    Cold Weather/Cold Hands

Hippo-Hands I have heated gloves and jacket liner, but those weren't enough several years ago, so I bought Hippo-Hands. Attached them to the handlebars, inserted my hands into them and went for a ride. I was kind of mentally dense that day, so when I noticed my gas consumption was really...

    Dark Side

Didn't know the beads are the same Thanks to all who pointed this out. I've been concerned with that difference, but had no problems with one Kenda and one Kenda run-flat on a GL1800. There was always a nagging worry about the difference in beads. I'll ride easier now. -Bill

Service Tech Agrees I had a Kumho rear tire installed last month at a North Georgia dealer. Got to talking to one of the service techs and I mentioned the 42% reported failure rates in the Consumer Reports survey. His response was that he was surprised the number is that small! After reading...

    Sad Day

    Fully synthetic oil

Thanks, I'll start looking for the sale price. NAPA had a great price on the Mobil Synthetic I use for my Forester XT Turbo this summer - in the one quart size which is easier for me to pour. I know oil and tire threads are repetitive, but I'm always eager to read them, plus their informative...
