• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2010 RT, what is the going consensus for new front tires

Hmm, had to look back in some old photos. Its a yokohama S drive I think. That was replaced about 2 years ago when I got the bike, the original kenda was worn out in the middle which was common with those tires as they had weak sidewalls and tended to expand quite a bit as they heated up.

2010 RT, what is the going consensus for new front tires

I finally got around to ordering a set of tires for the front. Ended up with two Federal SS657 tires to replace the original Kendas. Ordered on Amazon with prime, came to about 97 for the two with tax. Had them mounted yesterday at a local tire place. They charged me 50 for the two so all...

    2011 Can Am Spyder RT-S SE5 Issues?

They are good bikes, but keep in mind that its close to 10 years old and even with low miles, some things deteriorate and may need to be replaced. I would also ask about what service was done over its lifetime. With those few miles, I'll bet the oil may have been changed once during break in...

    Tom Tom Rider 550

I am looking at one of these but have a few questions that maybe somebody here can shed some light on. How well does this unit integrate the phone with the Sena headset? Can you use it to listen to music on the phone as well as routing from the GPS? Can it pass voice communications to...

998cc JT Spyder Store's CnC Machined Air Intake

After having gone through the process of changing plugs and wires on my 2010 RT, I can sympathize with wanting that airbox gone. I did look online and I thought when I saw this intake that they said you have to make sure the bike doesn't get caught out unprotected in the rain as water can get...

    TOWING WITH A CAR DOLLY

A few choice bumps and you will see sparks flying and plastic grinding. Also note that unlike other tows, there is no pivot at the hitch so any turning is going to be done by the front wheels. Back that thing up and the wheels will turn into the direction of the turn up until the point they...

2020 RT series are cool, but who's keeping their old Spyder

Uh, No. I'm ok with my 2010, it's running well enough. It's not my primary bike and I could never justify spending that much on a new one in any event. Would I take one if it showed up in my garage one day? Sure, but I'd never tie myself to that much depreciation as well as personal property...

    Gps

I use Garmin automotive GPS's on both of my bikes, usually no issues seeing them unless the sun is shining directly on the screen. You can buy or make a sun shade as well. I did that for the one on the spyder.

Shout out! - to Harvey & SpyderPops!

Kudos to SpyderPops... A while back I ordered a set of fender LED's for my 2010 RT. Well over a year ago. Recently I noticed that the RED Led's on the left side were out. I pushed on the strip around the junction and they popped on. As I rode the bike, I noticed that they seemed to like to...

    P081B Error Code - 2011 Spyder RT

How old is the battery? If it is on the way out or the connections are not tight, when you are starting the engine, the voltage will be brought down low and you may experience electrically related codes that may in fact not be actual problems. I experienced two codes that popped up when...

Full tune up on 2011 rss

I just finished doing the vac hoses as well as new spark plug wires and plugs on my 2010 RT. The performance was down and the idle was lumpy so it needed some help. From what I read, the plug wires can break down over time, the plugs if the original iridium, are probably fine, but why not...

998cc Winter Maintenance on the RT

Bike is back together. Finally had some time in-between all the the holiday goings on to give it a couple of days of effort. Put the new plugs in along with the new wires. Vac hoses were done about 2 weeks ago on some off time. With the plugs in, I wanted to fire up the engine but the...

    Cosmetic issue

I retrofitted one to my 2010. I believe it was a part for a 2012 or 13, dont really remember. You do have to make some mods to the part itself to make it fit, but once done, it looks like it should have always been there. Grill was fairly cheap as well, I think between 20 to 30 at the dealer...

how to replace battery in my can am rt

How old is the battery? If more than 2 years its suspect, 3+ just replace it and get on with it. They are not that expensive, I got one for around 60 online. You have to get a sealed AGM since it sits on its side. One other thing to make sure of is that the connections are on tight, if they...

    2012 RT-S; yes or no

One thing to keep in mind is that the F3 is more of a cruiser style seating position where the RT is pretty "Standard" meaning upright. I've never been a fan of the slouch you have to assume riding with your feet that far forward, so while they are nice bikes, they are not for me. I have a...

998cc Winter Maintenance on the RT

Thanks for the comments. I've had the panels off before, it gets easier each time you do it. Does look daunting, I'll admit. Here is the video for changing the plugs by the same guy:https://youtu.be/EQTNMYSTdIc

998cc Winter Maintenance on the RT

I figured I would post this to help anybody else who comes afterward and has to change a plug or change the vacuum lines on a 998 RT. I've had this bike for about 2 years. It's a 2010 with the semi auto 5 speed. It's been fairly reliable, never left me stranded. We've used it as a TOAD for...

    DLX diamond floorboards

If you are handy you can make your own. I modeled mine a bit on the seal version in that I use the existing front peg and the slot for the passenger peg for support. I had intended to use 1/4" diamondplate but ended up with 1/8" but it is still super strong even with my weight. This was the...
