• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Pulled the trigger today

Congratulations Toby; glad you were able to make the deal on the one you wanted.

    F3-T windshield with vents

My only comment would be that I think you put the cart before the horse; i.e., better to go about changing/choosing your new seat first. Because the F3T/L has a fixed position windshield, you're better off to get your butt and torso position comfortably sorted before you decide on a shield...

    Windscreen question

Windshields, like seats, are really a matter of personal preference. Both length (height) as well as width will make a difference in performance, as will flatness and/or rake, and whether the top edge has a Euro 'flip'. Into this 'mix' you can also toss the possibility of top edge 'add-ons' like...

    F3 Gas Mileage

2017 F3L here, ridden 2-up about 65-70% of the time. Between us, my lady and I weigh 360#. Just over 16,000 miles on the odo now. We ride in Ontario during summer, Florida during winter (and the mountains of TN, NC, WV, VA in between). Pretty much day trips, anywhere from 100-300 miles (we haul...

Review: FWIW trunk space on 2020 limited

Hi RICZ: When I checked out the new 2020 RTL a couple of days ago, my impression was that the rear top case was just as wide as what we have on our F3L's, but seemed to me to be even a tad deeper. I didn't measure exactly, but believe it to be so. What's even better are the hinges - really...

Review: 2020 RTL – a most impressive ryde

Marvin, I saw those videos last night after I returned from my test ride. Certainly, they give some cause for concern. I must admit that I didn't look over the 2020 RTL with any sort of critical examination as to fit and finish; nor did I look under any of the tupper ware or have any covers or...

Review: 2020 RTL – a most impressive ryde

I hear you; all three are decisions really dictated by personal comfort and preference. For me, Helibars might be an early, potential change. As I noted, the one really instinctive reaction I had was re handlebar position. I need to explore this further If I do go the 2020 RTL route. As for...

Review: 2020 RTL – a most impressive ryde

Before I begin this commentary, let me explain that I have always been a committed devotee of the F3L Spyder; I bought a 2017 version, mostly because my aged hips could not tolerate the sitting position of previous years’ RTL models. On this heavily overcast morning, with my lady’s shopping...

    F3 Limited Trailering Cover

Mike, I totally agree that my answer was not very concise.......... but the point of my extensive reply is that the 1, 2 or 3-word responses that many folks give never really explain the "why" that underlies the reason questioners should or should not be doing something. I just took the time to...

    F3 Limited Trailering Cover

I have a 2017 F3L, along with a BRP trailering cover, and can answer your questions precisely from personal experience. I have hauled my Spyder from Ontario to Florida and back for the past 3 years, both using and not using the cover. First off, you are right about the fit. The BRP trailering...

1330cc Causes for sudden jump in fuel consumption 2017 RTL

Askitee, I've had the same experience on my F3L recently while ryding in Central Florida over the winter. Last couple of fill-ups, my mpg has dropped significantly from what I was experiencing in Nov/Dec, and even that was somewhat down from mpg performance back in Ontario, during the summer and...

    Here's some New Kenda Tires!?!

Hmmmmm... Kenda Kanine, you say???..... Sounds rather like an old dog with a new name, but same bite.

    2-Up Question

IMHO, you'd be far better off to go and find yourself a good, used (maybe an unsold) F3 Ltd., anywhere from 2017 on up. Then you'd have exactly what you want from the get-go, on the proper platform.

    OEM F3 Spyder floorboard dimensions

The driver OEM floorboards on my 2017 F3L are, as LifeLongRider says, 11.5" in overall length. They are slightly longer from the pin-hole attachment point to the rear than to the front. I made this out to be 5-1/4" from front edge of floorboard to pin, and 6-1/4" from pin to extreme back edge of...

New Years Day Spyder rydin' - Florida style

Some of the SL members in more northern areas have recently been lamenting not being able to get out for a first ryde of the New Year, or having bikes in storage, etc. As a Canadian, conditioned to winter, I do empathize. When I bought my Spyder in 2017, I decided it had to be with 12-month use...

Wrong Spyder model associated with VIN number

You're welcome, JayBros. I would guess that the 'no depreciation' feature probably saved me from losing $12,000 - $15,000 of insurance coverage payback. Not a bad return for $50 additional premium cost. Wasn't planned that way, but net result is that I drove my vehicle for almost a year at no...

Wrong Spyder model associated with VIN number

JayBros, don't have my policy in front of me to tell you exactly, but my recollection is that the replacement cost (no depreciation) endorsement was an extra $45 or $50 per annum. It came in handy last August. My auto insurance covers two vehicles: Spyder, and (as it then was), a 2018 RAM 1500...

Wrong Spyder model associated with VIN number

tenino, I bought replacement cost (no depreciation) insurance, which protects me as regards original cost value for two years; so I didn't get overly concerned about a potential total loss of whatever model they 'think' my Spyder is. The payout for a 'write-off' claim within the first 24 months...

Wrong Spyder model associated with VIN number

My situation is the same as ARtraveler: I own a 2017 F3Ltd, but my insurer insists on calling it an F3T. When I challenged the policy info with my insurer, I was told the same: "the registration program, based on info supplied by BRP, says your Spyder is an F3T", and they "could not/would not...
