• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Odd report of Spyder Accident in SA Newspaper

This story caught my eye in the local San Antonio newspaper this morning involving a Spyder accident. The blurb printed in the paper was different than the one on-line with the printed version going into the fact that it is a Can Am motorcycle like vehicle with two wheels in front and one in the...

    Houston/San Antonio/Austin Meet/Eat Details

That's about as "back road" as we can get from SA to La Grange. We really don't have a lot of choices for scenic back roads, so this works for me. Maybe some of our future destinations will be more scenic. I'm just glad to get to see a bunch of local Spyder lovers!

what do you wear to work?

I'm lucky in that I work for a small company and the dress code is casual meaning we can and do wear jeans most days. When meeting with customers, anyone from the technical (non-sales) staff only has to dress in business casual meaning Dockers and button up shirts. Those days I just drive my...

    Houston/San Antonio/Austin Meet/Eat Details

We have a couple of Ryders from San Antonio planning on attending. We will have to set up some centralized place to meet up so we can go to La Grange en masse. I'm suggesting the Wal-Mart on 1604 and 281. I picked that location simply because I'm the first to suggest it :ohyea: Anyone else...

    Really?!?

:agree: Yes, this guy is WAY out of line with the current market value. Most of us purchased in 08 or 09 wound up paying MSRP of around $17K. My small unscientific study of recent sales shows an 08 or 09 with less than 5K miles on it should sell for around $12K. Fast depreciation on these types...

Need pics of yellow Spyder with Corbin seats

I've got a Yellow Spyder with Corbin seats and dual yellow backrests. I'll try to snap some pictures this evening and post. I really like the seat and so does the wife. I like the fact that I can snap the throttle without worrying she'll fall off the back :roflblack: Tony

Got any questions about the RT you want me to ask?

What happened to Yellow? I love the Blue but Yellow if my color

The RT will be at the Lamonster BBQ..

That is very cool. Hat's off to BRP for recognizing what you do for the :spyder2: community. Wish I was coming to your BBQ. Wait a minute, if I only had an RT, I could make such a long trek..... Bet my dealer won't have one till next year :(

    50 degrees.....

Uh, guys? We finally got a break from a record 59 days this year over 100 with daytime temps only reaching mid 90's and we consider this a COLD FRONT! Morning temps today were 73 vice the last month of 81 and humid. I can't wait till we get "winter in South Texas" when I can wear my mesh jacket...

    Houston, San Antonio, Austin Meet/Eat

La Grange on 9/26 sounds good. I've been wanting to get in on a Texas Sypder ride for a while. Looking at the map, I think I'll plot out some back roads there and back. Should be fun. See you there Tony

"IF" BRP comes out with a Touring Spyder...

While I'm extremely happy with my existing :spyder2: it is what it was designed for which is a fairly sporty and fun to ride machine. As it sits with the mods I've made it is a great daily commuter and weekends in the Texas Hill Country, but I've not been tempted to go more than 4 or 5 hours at...

    Both gauge dials sticking

Yes. Last time was when I took the dash apart to do my handlebar riser upgrade. I've had the "white screen" before that and after. Guess it is just a minor glitch.

    Both gauge dials sticking

I haven't had the dials stick, but I have had the LED display go completely blank (white) while the dials do their normal power on self test swing to limits and then back to zero. I hit the mode button and it started and the LED display all came back no problem. My Spyder has done this two or...

    Larger windshield--is it really needed?

Yes, it is a personal preference. At 45 MPH, the wind is actually rather nice. At highway speeds it really beats you up and a larger windshield deflects all that wind and allows you ride longer and arrive more rested. Even in this God awful hot summer we're having here in Texas:yikes:, I never...

    Am I losing My Mind?

I had previously noted that I had the tendency to sputter at low RPM when cold (before 1 bar). I also had surging at low speeds even when at operating temperature. Now that I've had the software update, I have no problems with low speed sputtering at any time. I have the stock exhaust which...

    Corbin Driver Backrest

I never had the backrest completely come out of the seat, but I did have a problem with it coming so loose that it was ready to fall out. I finally fixed it with a lock washer and some locktite. Funny thing is the passenger backrest never once moved. Weird.
