• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A little heads up on the software upgrade

Got the steering recall and 3K service done on Friday. I also noticed on the very first turn out of the dealer that steering effort was a lot less than it used to be. Haven't put a lot of miles on it yet but overall, the steering seems to be much better. The only downside is riding for the last...

A little heads up on the software upgrade

My appointment is tomorrow along with the 3,000 mile checkup. I haven't noticed any steering issues, but the feedback here from others on how much better it will be makes me glad I read SyderLovers

    TEMP BARS

Temps in the 90s would be a nice cold front for us in South Texas as we approach a record number of 100+ degree days (39 or so to date) and it's only the end of July:gaah: For my Spyder in the 90s typical highway temp is 4 bars. Stop at a light and it will hit 5 real quick, but will usually go...

    corbin seat install problem?

I had the same problem. I wound up backing the post out a little to make it reach down an extra 1/4 inch or so. After I had a few miles in the seat, the baseplate began to conform to the shape of the Spyder frame. I can probably tighten that post back up and it would still work ok, I just...

    Spyder Phantom, #000177 Is Dead

What a scary tale. Glad to hear you are alright. As a fellow Texan who braves the highways everyday, I salute you! When you get back in the saddle we'll have to organize a San Antonio area get together of some kind. Take care. Tony

Has the lack of mainstream advertising hurt Spyder sales?

Wow! I didn't realize there was so much strategy in the marketing and release of a new cycle. This was very new to me especially the $1,000 down and waiting, but I'm glad I did. It will be interesting what sales figures do for the BRP development team's budget and what new features are available...

Has the lack of mainstream advertising hurt Spyder sales?

BRP went a different way to introduce and spread market awareness of the Sypder using the web, demo rides and lot of informal word of mouth advertising to get the word out. While I don't have actual numbers, to my knowledge, BRP has sold under 10,000 units worldwide. I wonder if they had used...

    BRP a front for AARP?

Turn 50 this year but feel like I'm 20 when I'm on my :spyder: I am so NOT joining AARP this year :p

    Corbin Backrest

The actual design of how the bolt pushes against the back rest post to hold it in place is not the strongest way to attach a back rest and if you lean against it in a curve, you'll help it to work it's way loose. On a related note, I kept noticing that the drivers backrest bolt on my Corbin...

best $150 i spent on spyder

Forgive me for not being up to speed on all the mods, but I have been thinking for a while that my low RPM throttle response, while not bad, could be better. My Spyder runs great, but at low RPMs I find myself sometimes giving it a bit too much throttle resulting in lurching. I get this at low...

    passenger friendly ?

Yes, its very passenger friendly. In fact the wife and I took a nice ride yesterday (80 degrees here in San Antonio, sorry snow bound firends). Some key issues to making it passenger friendly. - Tighten up the shock pre-loads. I have front and back on max - Run higher tire pressure of 20...

    Advice on dealers in Austin

I bought mine at Joe Harrison's but I later found out that South Texas Suzuki in Lytle (south of San Antonio) charges a lot less for shipping and prep. Joe was ok to deal with and no surprises.

Real test for both Spyder and Thermosuit today

Deb, you my dear are definately hard core :2thumbs: I told my wife today that with mornings getting in the low 50's, I'll have to get some winter weight gloves and put the liner in my mesh jacket. I'm with you, though. I plan on riding all winter long. Unless it's really wet and nasty, the...

    New windshield

That looks kind of interesting. I've bought two Cal-Sci windshields and am pleased with them, but then again, these are the first two real windshields I've ever bought for a bike before so what do I know? Today was a bit windy and the X-LG Cal-Sci was doing a pretty good job going into the wind...

    Who has the perfect Spyder?

I'm with everyone here. No machine is perfect, but so far, knock on wood, my :spyder:has been pretty reliable and trouble free. Only problem I've had is squeaky brakes, but a hard stomp usually fixes that, and the temperature gauge showing 6 and 7 bars in 100 degree heat at a stop light, but...

    F1 Windshield. Marcel

Folks I've not done business with Marcel so please understand my input. I've bought two windshields from Cal-Sci. The second one was just to correct a simple error I made when over torquing the first one. In my opinion, the folks at Cal Sci have it down to a science. Literally. For both...

Formula One Fender and Wheel Kit(pics)

You know, I do believe that is a very cool mod. I don't know why, but very wide tires just seem like they are extra stable and able to handle more lateral forces. Must have :2thumbs:
