• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    New Style 1" riser

I understand that many think that 1" is not enough but I have quite long arms and from previous bike experience I find that 1" is quite a bit of rise. That's why I'm looking at this item. The original BRP has you taking the mounting block off the steering spindle. This one just requires that...

    New Style 1" riser

I'm seeing on eBay a riser that is simply a spacer rather than the whole handlebar mounting block. Looks like an easier install and should be just as good. Has anyone seen/tried this? It has a BRP part number. Looks like it will require longer bolts and they don't say if bolts are included...

Spyder Brakes. Did anyone try to change HB brake calipers or pads to anything else?

If the engine on your SE is still pushing the bike when you hit the brakes then you are not shutting down the throttle. If you shut it down the engine will help you slow down while pulling the clutch on an SM will not. I do agree that I'd like the pedal travel to be less. I have the ISCI...

Anyone thought of installing a Reverse beeper?

I have a little cheap beeper from Radio Shack that should work. Go see them. I was going to wire it into the turn signals on my Blazer since that clicker is so low volume. It got a little more difficult than I wanted to deal with so now it's in my 'supply' drawer. :opps: On my RS the turn...

    SpyderAnn01's Big Adventure

While you're in LV take a look at St George UT. 2hrs away and much prettier country. Also, we need more Spyder ryders here so the local BRP dealer will be tempted to pick up the line. Have a great trip.

    canam giveaway

I ran into these same problems and couldn't get past the error message even by filling in bogus info. I don't own and ATV and don't intend to buy one but it won't accept those answers. I've already spent more time on it than I should have I suspect. Even being retired my time is worth something.

    Somethin Interesting

This is good to know. I thought that the new LED's had circuitry in them to make them 'look' like regular bulbs to the computer. This high level of Nanny monitoring seems to be working against us as much as for us. Time to back them off a bit. My old Saab 9000 would show a bad light...

    Major tire wear issue

You could look into the Denver dealer. I had a little work done there and they seem pretty capable. It would be worth a call.

Going to wait for the next generation Spyder

Great looking Spitfire!! Those old British cars aren't very fast but they do make all the right sounds so you think you're going fast. :roflblack: Also very easy to work on. Enjoy it!! Don't worry about being here and not being an owner. I followed the posting for a long time before I...

    Major tire wear issue

I'm having the same problem at 8K miles. 2 different dealers say the alignment is 'in spec'. Others have reported the same problem on this board and BRP seems to say the it can be caused by aggressive cornering. Most of my miles were put on in the CO rockies where the curves are great fun...

    Naked Spyder

This might be the first case of trying to straighten a frame. I'll be very curious to hear if it gets done successfully. I'd think that the Spyder might not tolerate any variation in the frame alignment.

    Belt problem

It stands for Non Breaking SPace and occurs on certain typing software. It can be turned off. I know because I had to do it years ago but I don't remember how. I'll bet some one here knows. Come on experts!!

Question for the Comfort Seat owners please --

I switched to the comfort seat and it's a big improvement. I was still feeling like I was sliding forward a bit tho. Now I have the SBF Racing floor boards and that made a big improvement. Probably a testament to the flexibility of my senior knees. If I need more seat support I'll go with...

    Heat

Thanks. I felt around them recently when I started it up cold. There was no sign of any leaking but I'll start checking more often. So far, so good.

    Heat

When the Y gaskets fail can you feel leakage around those joints? I'm close to 8K miles but don't feel any leaks. When the temps hit 100+ I do get pretty warm on my left thigh.

    Rear foot Pegs?

I have the passenger foot peg extensions from Can Am. They work well and are very sturdy. I have the SBFRacing floorboards for myself up front and I'm pretty happy with them. They don't require altering the brake pedal or any other stock parts. I was seriously thinking of getting a more...

How to do YOU get on to your Spyder?

Just like with a horse. You approach your mount from the left. Otherwise is isn't happy! :lecturef_smilie:

    2008 Spyder seat replacement

I have the comfort seat and it's a big improvement over stock. Then I added the SRP Racing floorboards and it got a whole lot better. I was seriously planning to go with the Russell before the floorboards. Now, maybe don't need to. If I upgrade it will definitely be to the Day-Long. It's a...

Personal Best Yesterday*165 Miles on 1 Tank*I challenge other Ryders to try

176 on my RS today I put 5.5 gal in my RS SE5 today at 176 miles. Not great mpg but not terrible either. The interesting part is that the bike had been parked for about 2 weeks while we were gone. It was in the garage and the outside temps were 100-105 daily. When I started it the fuel...

    Utah Spider Owners

Just moved into UT We just moved to St George. I might be the only :spyder2: in Washington county and possibly the southern half of Utah. I keep watching for another. I think my closest dealer is in Las Vegas so I'll be doing more and more of my own maintenance work.
