• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any one receive free hat coupon from BRP?

I want to say Thanks for posting this thread. I got the brochure in the mail and never saw the gift card stuck up near the top. Shows how much I pay attention to advertising. I dug thru the recycle bin and found it and now have the card. Now I hope the dealer will have some hats on hand.

    Speed TV impressions

Hardly a road test. I thought the program was pretty short on technical stuff. Maybe they feel the target market isn't interested in that stuff. If you didn't listen real carefully you'd think that all Spyders were SE's. It did make me want to go ride the Pacific Coast Highway however. That...

Where can I get Black Kuryaykn Grips from?

I had a pair on the Kury's on a previous bike and really liked them. On the Spyder I'd like all black too. They're pretty pricey to begin and then I wonder: What would powder coating something that small cost? Do you need to take them apart to powder coat the metal parts? Might have to be a...

2008 BMW Spyder for sale, What?

BMW Spyder?? The seller is a Nissan dealer. They don't seem to know much about what they have for sale there. Might be a good bargain for some one who lives in the area.

    Loose Ends.....

Spring Steel Paper Clips I use those paper clips made of strong spring steel in sort of a U shape. The loose strap ends can be clamped against the taught part of the strap and held very snugly. I've never had an end come loose and start flapping in the breeze. Easy on and easy off. They...

    Steering issue, mega problem

I think I'd experiment with pulling the fuses. If it rides OK then I'd look into completely disconnecting the DPS unit. I always wondered why such a light weight vehicle needs power steering anyway. Also, is there a dealer in England or Scotland? Getting it over there s/b quite a bit cheaper.

    help .... knee guards ???

I'm interested in those knee guards too but they look like they're too short to protect the body panels from your knees. I'm wear a 30 in inseam and when I look at where my knee hits the side panel and then measure those pads the pads are too short. My knee will still reach beyond them. Maybe...

Hey gang need a quick answer

Aluma works I haul mine on a model 638 by Aluma. It's 63" wide with an 8 foot bed, all aluminum so it's very light weight. Also a low profile due to 13" wheels and independent suspension. I run the front wheels up onto 2 short pieces of 2X6 to make the nose clear the front rail. Very...

    Continuing my search for comfort

SFB Racing boards I Like the looks of the boards from SFB www.sfbracing.net but the right foot is out and below the brake pedal. I'm thinking that it might be about the same as the movement you need to make when stopping a car. Maybe some one here has them and can give some real world...

Do you use Ear Plugs ?

I use plugs designed for sport shooters, E.A.R., I think. They filter out the high impact noise really well and let normal frequencies thru but nicely filtered. I bought a box of 50 off a clearance table years ago and am just now using the last pair. They're washable and last pretty long. I...

    Is it worth the money

It's what fits your butt! The comfort seat for me is a big improvement over the stock but I'm still getting pushed forward on it. Hmmm! I'm considering taking some padding out so I'll fall back against that small backrest. Then I saw some one post about the Russel Day Long and that looks...

Do you let anyone else drive your Spyder?

Insurance issue My understanding is that my insurance won't cover a rider who's not a family member. Might be worth double checking on that. :dontknow:

    Problem of Odometer Reset

Wow! This is something I've never thought about. Every car I've seen from the last 30 yrs had 6 digit odometers. 100K kilometers is not a lot of miles. I always assumed there was a legal requirement of some sort but maybe not. Things that make you go Hmmmm! :dontknow:

    Another BRP Backrest Question

I already have the rack. I saw some one selling a 'non-adjustable' backrest and wondered it that was real. I've done some more digging and it seems that BRP has redesigned the backrest and changed the adjustment mechanism from the handle to a knurled knob on the front of the base. Looks like...

    Another BRP Backrest Question

I've been shopping ebay etc. for a backrest. One seller says his is NOT the adjustable model. I've never heard of that. I do see some differences in some pics though. Some have a black thumbscrew knob on the front of the base and others have the massive black handle at the rear of the...

    Rear Fender Removal

Keep us informed I'm thinking about doing a similar thing. I was planning to mount the plate to the bolts that hold the bottom tail cover. I'll need to be sure that it won't hit the tire with a passenger on board. I think it will be a summer job for me. If you search the forums you'll find...

    BRP 1" handlebar risers

Comfort Seat Movement?? My comfort seat keeps pushing me forward. How does Nancy's keep her in place? Does this need breaking in? Should I try crushing the padding at the rear half of the rider's section? I'd love that problem.

    spyderlovers stats

Spyderlovers.com is great I've been following this site for a couple years now and finally bought my SE5 (used) in Sept 09. I'm having a blast riding and fine tuning it. I now study everyone's mods intensely deciding which to do next. It's a great group of critics, supporters, and of course...
