• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

One more tyme......back to the shop (black hole) she goes.

Do you need a jack to lift a Spyder? No. I used a 6 foot long 4X4 underneath one side of the front suspension. Lifted up one side of the Spyder (RT) and my wife slid a 16 inch round piece of firewood underneath towards the center, but just off center enough to keep the side you want off the...

Extended Warranties. To purchase or not to purchase ?

I would give these folks a call if you are interested in a BEST warranty. No need to worry about how long you've owned it as long as your factory warranty is still in effect. http://www.eastbaymotorsports.com/ The woman who sells em is a hoot!

    Checking oil accurately

I like those! The 3" one would work great, if only one could get inside the tank to put the nut on the bolt during installation. ;)

    Checking oil accurately

What would be REALLY REALLY KEWL would be either: A. A sight glass, like Scotty mentioned B. A little analog gauge in the dipstick head with an needle to tell you the oil level (when cold) with separate dial, with same needle to tell you it when hot without having to take out the dipstick and...

    Checking oil accurately

My first 73 Sportster oil checking procedure went something like this (circa 1974/75): Stagger out to bike, if it was indeed anywhere to be found If found, light cigarette of unknown origin, take a few "puffs".. Hangover, suddenly, doesn't feel as bad as it did a minute ago.. Check and see...

    Checking oil accurately

This brainstorm came to me while reading another thread. 1. Change oil, filter(s). Add precisely the correct amount of oil needed according to manual 2. Ride for 5 minutes to check for leaks. 3. Let sit overnight 4. Check oil when cold the next morning with a longer instrument and mark it where...

    Two Spyder Happy Campers!

We are the ones in the first pic with the blue RT. We really enjoy the Aspen Sentry. Nancystoy(Scotty) also has one like we have. It opens up into a queen size bed with a 5X5 room with lots of storage space underneath. The price is about the same as the BRP trailer, without any options like a...

    Towing a Trailer

We have a rather heavy camper trailer we tow. I only put it in trailer mode if I feel like it. Trailer mode just raises the the shiftpoint rpm's so you will not lug the engine while towing, causing engine damage. I just make sure not to shift too soon while towing and not in trailer mode.. One...

    To much oil

I just changed my oil yesterday. After I dumped in 4 full quarts, started it and let it run, then checked it again, it needed a full 1/3 quart more to bring it up to snuff. When I looked inside the tank, there seemed to be plenty of extra room for oil, in case of overfilling. (RTSE) I had a 98...
