• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Should I buy new or used?

It's 'if you're financing it', if you're going to use boldface! As far as your content goes...yes, it depends on the rate and the time you are going to take to pay it off. I don't know what people pay as a downpayment, but that factors in as well.

    197 mph on a motorcycle?

I don't think he was worried about a quick stop as any quick stop at 190 mph is gonna throw him from the bike and kill him anyway...

Best technique for taking corners fast on the spyder?

If you do not lean, the inside tire will come up. It's pretty darn hard to lift the outside tire as it's the centripetal force that is trying to keep your bike going in a straight line. If you get the inside tire off the ground, you are getting beaten by the centripetal forces, and honestly...

Best technique for taking corners fast on the spyder?

Seth, the physics are the same...you still have to lean to combat the centripetal forces...this is univeral, no matter what...now, how much you lean to accomplish this will be different person to person...

    Fuel mileage

30-35 is accurate... Many here cruise, many ride hard...obviously, the harder you run, the more gas you are going to burn. For that matter, how big you are and what you weigh will affect your mileage as well...what type of shield you have, etc... I use the 'road trip' app. on my iphone..it...

Should I buy new or used?

Great looking bike (looks like mine!)....now that the millennium yellow is no longer made, it's nice to see one other than my own. I keep considering getting mag rims, but like you, I have stuck to the stock rims...they're easy enough to clean and they still look pretty darn good...

2012 RT vibrates above 5000 RPMs

Fire, just a few quickies for you here...did you end up with 10 lbs. on yours? I haven't put mine in yet but I hope to get to it in the next few weeks (grand central over here)...also, how was the 'shaving' of the plastic belt guard piece? Piece of cake?...it's not too noticeable?

2012 RT vibrates above 5000 RPMs

Only if they (or anyone) can prove that the tensioner did the damage...and truth be told, being most bikes have tensioners (except for ours), they'd have a hard time proving that reducing tension on a belt is a bad thing...or reducing vibration is bad for all the bolt, nuts, screws, etc...on...

Should I buy new or used?

I'll keep it simple...buy used with warranty and extend it with the BEST for 5 years total coverage...then you have nothing to worry about...of course, try to buy a used bike in good shape!

2012 RT vibrates above 5000 RPMs

Bill, Don't let the dealers fool you or intimidate you. That is completely false. For a factory warranty to be voided, it has to be proven that said modification caused whatever issue it is you are complaining of... For example, if you get a belt tensioner and you have a spark plug issue...

    15MM sway bar

Ron, Take a look at this thread... http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?40049-Sway-Bar-quot-Stoppers-quot As far as riding hard goes...I ride plenty hard...no point in riding IMHO if you're just gonna coast everywhere. Riding a bike with a bit of pizazz is what it is all about...

2012 RT vibrates above 5000 RPMs

If it's the belt, go with SmoothSpyder's Belt Tensioner. He's a sponsor here and is a heck of a guy...just got one for my 2008 GS...should help with the 5500 RPM range issue that I am having right now... BTW, all my buddies with Harleys have belt tensioners on them...apparently, easy to fiddle...

    HMF Exhaust opinion...

Firefly is a big fan of the HMF as well...I think he's been using one for a few years now. I got a hindle a few years ago and love it...serves the same function as the HMF..... As far as the JB goes (and I addressed this on one of your other posts), with a green filter and the HMF, you'll see...
