• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Pics of my baby

Hey, I was just in El Paso a few weeks ago (rode Spydee over from Tucson). You would have thought I'd come in on spaceship from the looks I got! Nice ride, but a bit "brisk" coming across the continental divide in New Mex! :2thumbs:

    Advice for son's bike

I tell people the Spyder is about 90% as fun as a 2 wheeler, and about 50% the risk. That said... if he still insists on a 2 wheels, avoid anything remotely resembling a sport bike. 17 year-olds aren't known for their self control, and if it looks like a racer, he will treat it as such...

Whos highway foot rest are the best?

:agree: Oh yeah! I was wondering if that would be possible... leaving the existing peg in the original spot, and adding a new one oriented toward the bike's centerline. Question, will any of the three link lengths offered bring it high enough to go over the lower fairing? ... or do you need...

    6K done

Hey Jim! I assume you took it into the Ina Road location? Your experience makes me think I might take mine down to 22nd. Mine is due for the 6K service real soon.:spyder:

Floor Boards by Jerry's Welding & Machine

Look at the piece parts on the link and you can see the additional mounting gusset. I would still maybe add a corner support in the right angle of the brake pedal just in case. But I like them alot.:2thumbs:

BRP Ultrasport Windshield: It appears, I need to get new foam pads, & washers ,,,

:agree: I don't think the earlier units had pads and washers... mine didn't either. (#792) But, seeing a potential issue, I just add a rubber (or nylon) and flat washer when swapping between the F1 and stock.

    They're here!

Naw... rains too much in Fla. NMN needs to open up a desert test facility. Sunny and 75 in Tucson today!

    Heated Gear

You guys (and gals) all amaze me.... wouldn't it be easier to just move to AZ or FLA for the winter? You come south for the winter, and I'll head north when it's a 110 here in the summer!

    New Adjustable Highway Footrest Brackets!

Looks like the original brackets made by "Billet Bike Parts"? The extensions should work like a champ. Right MM? Gonna sell a bunch of 'em!:2thumbs: I'll be gerry-rigging up a temp set up to figure out which ones I want!

    How Low Will They Go

Dang... still 2.31 here in Tucson. Can't wait to fill up the Tahoe. Guess I'll have to keep riding the Spyder!

    James in Red Rock, AZ

OK, Another link I'll have to check on periodically! I'm another "Jim" in Oro Valley. Picked mine up in Feb, have added Hindle, Evoluzione performance air filter, F1 windshield (when it's cold or for longer rides), Highway pegs, replaced driver pegs w/Kury Iso; NMN Tipz, Triple play and...

VSS/ABS There is NO MAGIC here!

You are THE "Magic Man"! Thanks for the info. Now... any bets on who will be the first numbskull to disconnect the sensors and flip his ryde? I wouldn't mind raising the limits a bit, but I do not have a death wish! I'll just live with it until somebody cracks the code.

    Argh...when it rains it pours

Which dealer did you take it to? Ina or 22nd? (Though I think either place would be similarly clueless.) Also, I do have a trailer and can haul it if you need it moved.

    Do you have power steering?

I did a quick comparison (engine on vs. engine off), and I can't tell any difference either... and I've had mine since Feb. On those who have had the issue, what was the problem... and the fix? Rather not waste a day at the dealer if I don't have to.

Never paid list price in my life... this is NUTS!

Ridenow has been gouging customers in AZ since the Spyder came out. When I first tried to order mine (In May 07) they were adding $1000 to sticker plus inflating the transportation and prep charges to exhorbitant levels (almost $2000 if memory serves). I ended up buying mine in Calif for...

Billet parts or Kewl - highway foot peg brackets?

I have the Billet brackets also and agree... not bad on distance, but a bit wide. Anybody come up with a mod to angle them in a bit and/or maybe bring them up and over the cowel? I'm thinkng maybe extend the bracket straight up and mount the pegs on the inside?

    oil reservoir gasket

Swell... At least I have 3000 miles or so until I have to take it in. By then maybe they'll have some experience. Either that or I'll have to trailer it down to 22nd... or up to Chandler. :dontknow:

    Simple Math, miles per hour

3600 miles and 105 hrs. 34 for me, too. Mostly in town and short joyrides. Interested to see what some of the more high mileage ryders are seeing.

    oil reservoir gasket

Thanks! (I now have downloaded the IPC to my PC.) I "assumed" (and we all know what that means) that the instructions in the "How to" section of this forum were correct. It indicates that the two washers are the same part number, so that's what I bought. (Does that mean that we have evidence...

    oil reservoir gasket

OK... just completed the 3500 mile oil change and other than sure I would snap off the drain plugs removing them, it went fine. (Who tightens those things???) Anyway, the copper gasket (p/n 420250640) fit the crankcase drain plug fine, but no way it would slip over the plug on the oil...
