• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Lost Reverse

It's possible road debris got in there and messed it up... or a critter decided it might be tasty :)

    BajaRon's done it again

I've been fairly disappointed in my ST-S handling since day one. Now, I'm picky. I know this. So I have to warn people when I say the ST-S disappointed me. Put on the BRP RSS kit (fox shocks and brp upgraded sway bar) to start. Adjust-ability is nice, bar sucks. I think it was made for...

Maybe I'm thick headed... Help me understand

The ROLO alignment system aka laser alignment is to a Spyder what a 4 wheel alignment is to a car. The only reason you would only do a front end alignment is if your rear isn't adjustable. The rear is adjustable on a Spyder, so why wouldn't you want a 3 wheel alignment? That's my...

Riding at 68mph and above on a RT

I really don't notice any instability until I'm over 100... and then things start getting fuzzy from someone screaming in my helmet to slow down. You've got the swaybar, good start... I can't say I have any advice on shocks for a 2013 RT. The Fox shocks will fit, but they are designed for...

    Do I or Don't I

Just my 2 cents... a Platinum dealer means more than just technician certification. There's a lot more that goes into it than just training and it adds up to a better dealer in most cases. But it doesn't mean non-platinum dealers are bad. I can think of a few but won't name names ;)

Vehicle Stability System - Any Way to Make it Less Sensitive?

Couple things: I had swapped seats on my ST and somehow a bolt wound up lodged in the passenger sensor and jammed it in the "on" position. Man did that suck. Later I swapped seats again and noticed it. I had no idea what I had done ;) If you want the nanny to go away (you don't... trust...

    Terrible gas mileage with ST

I wouldn't start worrying just yet. If after 4000-5000 you're still getting 25mpg on the highway talk to your dealer and see if they can find anything. I'm really surprised that ST's are getting bad mileage. My mileage has been great compared to my GS.

    Canister picture

The most intense heat is from 80mph interstate travel for hours on end. This seems to be when most of the melting happens. So if you don't do a lot of high speed interstate travel it might take a lot more miles before you have a problem. Regardless, get the recall done if you have a 2013 ST...

    Terrible gas mileage with ST

Worst I've got on my ST is 30, back and forth to work, suburban traffic, short distances. Best was 36mpg @ a pretty constant 80mph in 99F weather heading to the owners event this May. When I got there, my MC cap was melted from the heat. This weekend I did about 400 miles from 55 to 80mph @...

About to pull the trigger on an STS

I don't see the adjustable shocks and Ronbar as optional, they're pretty much necessary for a comfortable, wobble/sway-free ride. Just assume you're going to get them. :) You mentioned your dealer is out of recall parts, make sure you get them installed before you ride it. While many people...

Open loop vs closed loop on 2013

Two very good points. Max power is found towards the lean end at high throttle/high rpm operation. This is why tuners have to play it so dangerously close to the point where it goes foomp and lets out the magic smoke.

How many miles do you ride?

29,000 on my '09 GS in 3 years with very little downtime. 5,000 on my 2013 ST and it's been in the shop more than out. I am hopeful they get the 2013's straightened out soon. My wife's 2009GS has about 22,000 on it now (3 years) and very little downtime.

    Has anyone done this mod????

I paid $4.85 for mine, threw out the box and stuffed it all into a tool roll. I also got this: http://goo.gl/pa2ywk Always looking for smaller, lighter tools to take with. Oh, and I'd love to have my battery under the seat again. The battery in the frunk sucks. Lost so much space :(

Open loop vs closed loop on 2013

More or less correct. When any fuel injected motor starts up, the temp reads low and they automatically richen the fuel a bit so it won't stall out. This only lasts a little while and it starts to lean it out to build up the temps to normal operating temperature. The ECM/ECU reads the...

    Power commander for 2013 ST

I've made a post about this before... the 991 motors of the RT's and 2013+ RS/ST are closed loop until 8000 rpms so there's not much point in getting an Autotune for fuel efficiency as you don't cruise at 8000+. The Autotune would work great on the high throttle positions however, so you can...

    Power commander for 2013 ST

More? You mean less right? :) The 2011 RS doesn't have a cat... the ST does... unless you've removed it?

    ST-S Heat problems

With the weather cooling all we can do is hope BRP has the info they need to come up with something for the 2013's... And hope they're the kind of company we all expect them to be. I keep hearing (from BRP) that there's something coming for us... fingers crossed.
