• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Checking Oil Level

Oil Check The engine has a "dry sump" system, the oil is scavenged from the crankcase by a pump and returned to the oil tank when running. When the engine is not running for some time the oil may drain down from the tank to the crankcase so there would be some variation in the indicated oil...

    Vee Rubber Tires?

ARACHNID TIRES I replaced the KENDAs on my 08 GS in January as they were readily available. The rear tire did not require any balancing weights and the fronts were about the same as the KENDA fronts for balancing weights. First 150 miles or so they felt unstable, after that they were fine with...

    Break pad life 2010rts

Brake Pad Life? I ride an 08 GS SE5, purchased used so had no idea of how many miles were on the pads, so I replaced them as they squealed like pigs, common enough problem. They still squealed with new pads and the rotors were in good shape. Read the following carefully...

Trying to get a handle on it

Getting a Handle? As a recent convert to a 2008 Spyder I understand your concern about stability. You've covered all the bases with alignment, shocks, wheels, and Sway Bar. The Spyder has a different feel going down the road, it kind of moves a little side to side but to a two wheel rider it...

    Remove Front Drive Sprocket HELP!!

Front Drive Pulley I'd also recommend a trip to a speciality welding/machine shop that has an EDM (Electro Discharge Machine), this can be used to remove the head of the bolt. This would allow getting the pulley off to see just how bad is the situation, Shaft or Pulley Splines stripped or...

    RS - Rear Tail Lights

LED Upgrades The LEDs draw much less current than the incandescent filament bulbs, the "nanny" monitors the current to determine if the various lights are functioning, if not then it puts you into the "Limp Mode". Does seem if there were just a simpler less dangerous method of notifying you...

    Oil Change what I found!

I have a 2008 GS/RS SE5 that i bought used in December, kind of a Christmas present. It has about 23000 miles on it and was clean, always thought the previous owner kept it in he's front room. Runs great but I started doing some maintenance items to make sure they were done, new plugs, air...
