• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ever had one of those days..........

Borrowed from BMW -- "MY JOB? JUST SOMETHING I DO BETWEEN RIDES." Another one: "EVERY DAY I GET UP, AND IF I DON'T FEEL LIKE RIDING, I GO TO WORK."

    30 tooth front Sprocket

the Rotax 990 is a high rev engine, so reducing revs may not necessarily be the panacea for engine wear ... quite the opposite. It has already been shown that greater tooth-count on the sprocket doesn't increase miles per gallon. My riding style usually has my RT-S topping out at 70mph for...

    carry a pistol?

The Haiku of CC This is one of those threads bound to evoke the spirits of the balanced and the unbalanced, no matter what one's position is on CC permits. I happen to support CC. I also happen to live in Maryland which has very dysfunctional laws regarding the matter. Such is life; I'll...

    Someone with a service Manual???

PTT button is useless I had the same idea you did a couple of years ago. It just hooks into the canbus which actuates the CanAm CB option through the Spyder's "Computer Area Network" ... ergo "CAN" bus. The reviews and expense of the CB system caused me to ditch the dealer CB option idea all...

Cat Removal - New Zealand Interesting ... Noting the author is in New Zealand. I just participated in a thread where someone here in the USA wanted to remove his catalytic converter. With our emissions laws in most of the USA, I don't think you'd find a dealer mech willing or authorized to...

    catalitic converter

Playin' with Fire I'd leave it alone, dude. Your engine and O2 settings are tuned to accommodate the catalytic (correct spelling) converter. And, like somebody else said here, it's there by law. I won't say all, but MOST of the folks I know who have modified their exhaust systems to gain an...

    Fender tip lights

... and so in conclusion If you want to 'tric' your fender tip lights, i.e. integrate them with turn signals, etc., then go to folks like Custom Dynamics for the kit(s) to do so. They're also happy to include the accompanying lights. Or, if you just want to change your bulbs, then...

    New Elka shocks

Super hard ride and a 'Klack' I've had Elkas on the front of my RT-S and they're fine. Ordered an Elka REAR from John and had it installed by my dealer. Two issues: (1) They played hell trying to integrate the new rear Elka with the RT-S's Automatic Suspension Control (ASC). (2) My RT-S...

    RT Exhaust/Muffler

I agree, but not sure about messin' with the muffler I share the same observation as dgnspyder. I like the dimensions of the stock exhaust. I've seen various aftermarket applications for exhausts on the RT, however, their appearance does not compliment the RT. When one removes the stock...

SPYDER RT PASSENGER ARMRESTS FROM DIAMOND R ACCESSORIES

Very Nice, Indeed Those Diamond R armrests are so much better than the Corbins. Now, if someone could just vend me a sweety to put on the back, thereby justifying not only Diamond R's armrests but also the RT-622, now that would be grand.

    G'bye SpyderPops "Missing Belt Guard."

Heh-heh ... Good hearing from you Roger. You coming to the Spring Rally? (www.midatlanticspyder.com). I've got a great route planned for Saturday, and I could use some help. On the belt guard, well ... the clearance between the belt and the tire is so narrow, the thing is bound to rub up...

    G'bye SpyderPops "Missing Belt Guard."

Ouch! Well, maybe one of our alumni in the know will tell me how to fix this thing so it doesn't rub my tire. Does yours rub? Thanks ~ Surfer

    G'bye SpyderPops "Missing Belt Guard."

I had one of these jewels installed two years ago at SITS 2010 in Gatlinburg. Mr. SpyderPops installed it himself. Think I'm gonna take it off (anybody actually damaged a belt with a stone, etc?). The belt guard rubs against my rear tire and is 'polishing' my sidewall. Not damaging anything...

Elka Rear Shock Question - How Firm?

I posted at the below link to the RT Shop Talk forum, but it has not solicited a response (admittedly, a lot of info there). Bottom line: I just had the Elka rear shock installed by my Spyder dealer on my RT-S, along with a re-cal of the RT's ASC. It's just a Stage 1 with no reservoir...

Elka Rear On - AND 300lb Front Springs

I just had an Elka Stage 1 (without reservoir) installed on the rear, as ordered from John at Elka. Installed by Pete's Cycle, Baltimore, MD, my Can Am Dealer, from whom I purchased my RT-S back in January 2010. Well, here's my experience: The rear shock threw my dealer techs (who just came...

Any Tenn. / North Carolina Riders Familiar with NC 105?

Blue ... Thanks so much for your response. Now of course, we're not shy of an exciting, fun ride. A lot will depend on weather, the time and just 'how we feel' by the time we hit Boone. Then we make a decision, and your feedback enables us to make an educated one. I wanted to make sure NC105...

Any Tenn. / North Carolina Riders Familiar with NC 105?

I'd appreciate getting some NC/TN riders' feedback on this: In late June, I'll be leading a few Spyders down to attend TrikeTalk.com's "Rally in the Valley," in Maggie Valley, NC (June 21-24). I've made the trip down to this region, between Gatlinburg and MV twice in the past. One of my...
