• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Help

The Spyder I test rode in the Spring of 07 had the wheel trim things on it. They were all cracked and had pieces broken off of them. Would not advise putting them on your machine. Just my opinion, of course.

    Interesting octane question

The gas here in FL is all 10% ethynol . I run 87 octane and get right at the 30-32 MPG range. Bike seems to have a ton of power and when I get it over the 5K rpm, it flies! Now if only I had a good seat.....

    Day Long Saddle ?

Have had Day Long Saddles on at least 5 bikes over the years and they have all been great! The only problem is having to send your seat to CA and the resulting down time while it is being built. With the last bike, I took a couple of garden kneeling pads and sat on that. Not much in the way of...

    RPMs at Idol

For Scotty - Know what you mean re BMW "banging" into first gear. I had a 1966 R69S that really clunked! Great bike, though. Taught me a lot about motorcycle mechanics. I even learned how to adjust twin leading shoe brakes! Jack

    Squeeky brakes

Brake pad replacement Stopped by my dealer yesterday and asked about BRP replacing my brake pads. He said they would, including parts and labor. I have PE 600 Spyder so it is one of the older ones. No mention was made re mileage.

    Replace brake pads

Change rear brake pads with wheel on bike? Can you replace the rear brake pads with the wheel on the bike? The brakes on my Spyder do not squeal, but they don't seem to be very agressive in stopping the machine. Are there brake pads available from sources other than BRP? Thanks for your advice.

The Ongoing Saga of Buying a Sypder....

Glad you finally have your Spyder! I had a similar experience when I went to pick up my Spyder (#600). On the way from the service department to the Showroom area both keys to the Spyder were lost! That was in Dec, 2007 and they haven't turned up yet. The Dealer called BRP and they...
