• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    ELKA SHOCKS

RT shock install Our dealer quoted an hour; using 15mm end wrenches with the RT wheels off the ground, it took about that long at home. Didn't pull any body work but it is tight in there. What would you say is the standard install time for a BRP trained mechanic to install these on an RT?

USER NAMES/HANDLES - What does yours mean? Where did it come from?

handle we were VauhnCat since it was Vaughn (me) and Cathy . . . now she is Spyder Cat since we have two Spyders and now, two lap tops . . . . . my antique friends call me Vago (not to be confused with the outlaw bikers 'club' . . . . but a mangling of Vaughn into va-gon, then into vago which...

Did you get your DPS done yet?

DPS Both our RT and RS were done a few months back; that took the continual PSP out (perpetual sphincter pucker) of Spyder riding . . . . the Elka shocks didn't have near the same effect (affect?) but were the icing on the cake . . . along with using real butter, and fruit filling . . . can't...

    RT HAVE ENOUGH POWER?

From Goldwings to Batwings . . . Cat and I logged a lot of miles on a Suzi 1500 V, and the RT seems like a hot rod next to that. . . . the Goldwing is hard to beat for torque/power and refinement, but the RT SE5 is like a European sports car vs and American muscle car; when in doubt, down...

RT is my personnal Time Machine

aaaaaaaa . . . . the dipstick? What was the first clue? I mean, just in case I make that mistake . . . my peg leg on that side wouldn't feel the heat from oil blowing out . . .

    Bike vs Spyder

Depends . . . Rode my son in laws new Harley Classic the other day;what a nice bike. . . much more refined than my old VL-1500 Inruder (that I just sold w/almost 80K on it) . . . but with just under 17K miles on our RT in the last 11 months, I don't see going back to two wheels as our main mode...

Elka's Just got the Elka's on the front of the RT this weekend . . . . my son n law stopped by about the time I was going to give up trying to pull the front body work . . . with another set of eyes we ended up throwing them on in an hour . . . no need to remove anything other than the bolts ...

    Elka Shocks Install and review

Elkas :shemademe_smilie: I love having a motor head for a wife who talked me into investing in some 'canyon burning enhancements' for our RT. Our local Can Am dealer, Waterworld, in Medford, Oregon, became an Elka dealer so as to serve his Spyder Ryders even better. . . . and we now have a set...

    Would you buy...

Vaughn and I first chose the RT so we could ride 2 up, but in just a few days we both knew I'd been bitten hard by the sporty RS. And now -- 9 months later -- we have plenty of gas receipts for both.... after 16000+ miles on the RT and 6000+ on the RS. And yes, :agree: it is an individual...

    NOT ANOTHER GAS MILEAGE THREAD

We track most of our fillups on fuelly. And yes, we get a wide range of mpg, probably due to who's riding and who's filling up. The RS mileage dropped after the clutch & DPS were replaced . . . probably because it's soooooo much more fun to drive now! Cat:doorag:
