• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Works Performance Shocks

Got my Suzi VL on the block After 10 years and almost 80K on my VL-1500, it is up for sale . . . just seems a shame to let her sit in the garage. . . . . Oregon moisture isn't kind to ignored machinery. Our Spyders have given new meaning to the words 'fun factor' . . . . . and there isn't a...

    DPS

We hadn't experienced any problems with either the RT or RS (except that neither one seems to like pulling into the parking lot at work on Monday mornings:roflblack:!) but we sure can tell a difference . . . as mentioned by others, a the new units are a lot more responsive..... so I think...

    Riding double, RS vs RT

We have the RT & RS. Both have Corbin seats and one removable back rest. Since March, I've put on thousands of miles behind Vaughn on the RT riding 2 up but last week was the first time we rode 2 up on the RS. And I have to say it wasn't at all what I expected (or feared). Even doing 80 down...

    Checking your Spyder's oil

So, Vaughn did a complete oil/filter change yesterday on the RT, so now we will be able to keep an accurate record of how much oil it uses. Thanks for sharing your thoughts an opinions! Lots of good food for thought. :firstplace: Cat :doorag:

    KewlMetal motor mounts cracked

Vaughn is out in the garage changing oil on the RT and just noticed a crack in the KewlMetal mounts. The history: when we bought the RT back in March, the mounts were recommended and installed by the dealer when we first bought the RT for the Kuryakin (sp?) highway pegs. Unfortunately the...

How well does the Spyder do in a crash?

I got T-boned on the RT while parked at a gas station last Monday :gaah:(detailed on another thread) and I agree with you! If I had been on 2 wheels, that Yukon would have either pushed me completely over and/or into/through the gas pump. Other than cosmetic (where the trailer hitch made...

    Checking your Spyder's oil

So far, the dealer has done all the oil changes. But, with so many recommendations about Ken's oil kits, I just sent off an email to him for info . . . for next time. Don't know if I mentioned it earlier, but the dealer checked the valves and they're within specs. Cat :doorag:

    Pain in the neck-and back

:agree: I'm the same age as you 2manycars, and I agree with John. The first thing we did on the RS was install the fully adjustable KewlMetal risers/handlebars, switch to gel grips and add a VistaCruise. We recently installed the SFBracing floorboards on the RS and are really interested in...

DPS recall, anyone else had it done yet?

Wow, that's too bad. We didn't have an issue with either the RT or RS DPS units but we had the replacements on both units this week. We took the 'scenic route' home from the dealer last night. I'll have to say that there was a remarkable difference with the RS! Much more solid and...

    T-boned RT

Inspection update We picked up the RT yesterday after the DPS replacement. (I haven't driven it yet, but Vaughn really likes the way it handles.) It looks like the bent fender mounts and dent in the lower side panel (from the trailer hitch impact) are the only damage. Our dealer Ted is...
