• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Our RT has a brake problem - help?!

Sounds like its time to ditch this dealer and find another one. A lot of inexperienced dealers out there trying to make a quick buck. Check for fluid leaks, fluid level, and may need a bleed job. Check for rubbing and proper adjustment of PB. RT pads should be gen III so it shouldn't squeek.

    Avoiding obstacles

Spyder doesn't have a lot of clearance. So going around the object is preferrable. For smaller stuff, front wheels soaks up the bumps much better than rear. For bigger stuff, rear wheel hits are safer (provided that you lift ur butt off the seat so the impact doesn't buck you off).

Washing spyder without a water hose.

Great tip. I didn't know that.

Watch out for this guy !!!

I was leaning towards that too. A car can be considered as a weapon. Nuff said.

Excuses to take your spyder out!

Milk is running low. Need a dozen eggs. My Spyder is the impromptu go getter for around town stuff. Fast, stylish and efficent. How much cooler can you get for simply going for a dozen eggs?!?:D

    Doing your own maintenance

Stick to the recommended rating or risk thouusands. Your choice.:doorag: After all, I thought we are doing this to save $$$, not trying to blow up the bike and spend $$$$$ more.

$133 for a replacement key?!? WTF

Those fobs are pretty cheap. A few bucks each. "Disposable" as most people don't return them. Extra charges are ways to make money or cover the system cost.

    A Good Luck Bell?

I found an old one that's been in my family for many years. I remember playing with it when I was a kid. Will put that one on the Spyder when I find a suitable location on the bike.

$133 for a replacement key?!? WTF

Very sad to see that kind of dealers out there. They don't even try to hide the fact that they are doing the highway robbery. Guess they got you coming and going.

    gps for the rs s

I used a good quality ram mount from eBay (brass and stainless steel). Remove the extra plastic handle bar cover and the mount fits right into that space. I find the wider screen GPS tends to get in the way so I selected the smaller Nuvi version (personal preference). Don't ride in the rain...

Trip from Florida to New Jersey? Do we do it?

There is a Garmin POI file on this site that have all the Spyder Dealers programmed in. Anyone can point her to the link and save her some time???

Trip from Florida to New Jersey? Do we do it?

Do the 600 mile service before leaving or plan on changing your own oil once you arrive NJ and follow up with the 600 mile serice once you get back. MIssing the 600 by several hundred miles isn't gonna make or break things.

Need Part Number Help and Engine 'Stumble' issues

:agree: and make sure it is routed correctly. Any leaks will throw off the AF ratio.

Need Part Number Help and Engine 'Stumble' issues

You could have a bad evap control valve (mine did when I took it in for the 3rd update). That will certainly screw up your AF mixture. Just for testing, you might want to plug up the vent hose and see if it makes a difference. If it does and you are out of warrenty, just do the canesterectomy...

    Alarms

MY IPS work great. Might keep the alarm remote in my pocket. Once armed, it won't start (iggy kill).
