• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Cost of Oil Change

Any dealer who can't keep a simple oil filter in stock should not be trusted with servicing your $20K+ bike .... plain and simple. Get the stuff online from one of the sponsor here and do it yourself. Save some hard earned dollars and put it towards gas so you will be way ahead the game when...

    battery dead

Odyssey is the way to go. 6-10 years of projected service life at about or less the price of a OEM Yausa at the dealer. It's a no brainer. I bought mine over winter as I knew the battery is already really weak when I put it away. New Odyssey is going in right before the first ride.

Engine Overheating and how to manage this weird key!

A couple of summers ago I got stuck with quiet a bit of traffics (unable to merge) and Spyder heated up to 6 bars with fan blowing. I actually had a temperary limp mode due to that high temp. It was okay as soon as I got it going again. But I decided to switch over to synthetic oil for lower...

    About to buy, dealer recommendation

Related stores varies from each other and the onsite managemnent set the tone (or flavor). If you don't get a good vib from the dealer, don't be afraid to go to another. Make them EARN your business. No small investment you are making there.

Could they make it any harder...

Just like oil changes ... the next design change may require you to go to the dealer to get your air fill / checked.:roflblack: Some of these stuffs really makes me wonder who the hell did the QC on these things.

    Soft Oil Plug

All I know is whenever I bring my vehicles in for a complete / major service, the oil filter and plugs are twice as tight when I try to remove them the following time.

    Soft Oil Plug

I wonder if you have enough space to latch a vise-grip onto the skirt of the spent plug. I bet that will let you twist it right off. Dealer looooves to crank those parts on tight just to make sure if you ever decide to do it yourself, you are gonna have a heck of a time trying to get it...

where to put ugly inspection sticker?

On or up? :roflblack::shemademe_smilie: My Spyder is registered in NY. I got them to place the inspection sticker under the frunk lid (only visible when open ... of which I need to do to retrive my ins. info.). My second preference is on the driver side of the rear wheel lower arm.

    Spyder sales

That's easy to do for smaller segments. It's a 100% increase when you go from manufactureing 1 bike a year to a wopping 2 bikes per year.:roflblack: So don't get too excited on the numbers. They can twist them things anyway they want.

Anybody got a spare key sleeve?

The sleeve enables you to attach Spyder's key to a key ring or whatever else. I have it attached to my alarm remote and a deteachable pig tail to my main key ring. Very handy little sucker.
