• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

do it yourselfers do a longer din to 3.5 jack yet???

The "official" DIN pin count is a bit convoluted so considering the cable that came with my 2011 RTS, looking at the DIN end with the index at the top and counting clockwise, pin 4 is the tip, pin 5 is the sleeve, and pin 6 is the ring. And if you need the corresponding information for the...

FYI: CA Motorcycle Law & Insurance Requirements

Good point. Seems to me though on page three of the 2013 Motorcycle Handbook under "License Requirements" NOTE: Class C licensees may operate a motorcycle with a side car attached or a three-wheel motor-cycle. waves the requirement for an endorsement. Therefore, I wonder if the OP's insurance...

    Feathering the throttle?

It'll be interesting when the answers start coming in. I can't speak to the SE but this seems like a good case for the SM. Easy to feather the clutch and go as slow as you want.

    Filler up?

Was what was left of the fuel in your tank when you stopped for gas hot? I wonder if it was the resultant vapor that shut the nozzle off. It's happened to me more than I care to count but what seems odd is that you got two gallons in the tank before it started giving you a bad time. My...

The parts you are after can be found in the "Body and Accessories Console" section of the parts catalog located here once you burrow into the catalog for your year and model.

Got my Ride, got my Ticket, and Hit the road....

For what it's worth I don't even think of hitting 5th on our RT unless I'm beyond 70 and even then it depends by how much. 65 +/- in 4th puts you close to 6k rpm which makes the Rotax happy! Can't say I'm frownin' either.

    My first engine code.

The reason I asked is that my introduction to P0127 happened during the second half of my original question. Understandably so since we were triple digits that day and my Spyder had been parked on hot asphalt baking in the sun for about an hour while my wife and I were having lunch. Doesn't help...

    My first engine code.

Just curious. Did the code set while you were riding or had you stopped and the code set immediately after the re-start?

    Zumo 550 Route planning software?

This one is new to me so I can't tell you anything about it. Would be nice if you could save your routes to an SD card. Time for me to go learn something.

    Zumo 550 Route planning software?

You have two choices from Garmin. One that has already been mentioned is MapSource which Garmin refers to as "Legacy" software which is a polite way of saying its old. I imagine it'll still work though. Their most recent application is BaseCamp which I must admit isn't always user friendly.

    New Spyder owner

Ran into a woman and her mother at Fresh Market. She was telling us, and her mother by the way she was pointing at us when we rode in to park, that she and her husband were getting "one of those this week." That was two weeks ago. Sounds like there's another pair of you somewhere in Tulsa. The...

    Manuals

Scroll down to the bottom of this page where you'll find the "master collection" for all things (Spyder of course) 2013. One thing I found interesting is "This is NOT a scan, this manual is from the original digital source." Quality should be as good as it gets!

    Engine vibration at 6000 rpm

It goes on your signature line, the same place you have your emoticons. You can create the map I use by going here. The instructions are pretty straight forward. Create the map, save it to your hard drive, log on to SL and upload the image at Settings / Edit Signature using Option 2. There are...

    Engine vibration at 6000 rpm

You won't find this in the "official" documents but just for ducks take hold of the lower run (easier to get to) of your belt mid way between the front and rear sprocket and twist it along its axis. If you can twist it to 90 deg without a lot of effort it's probably time to visit your service...
