• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cheap frunk operator for 14 RTd

great idea I'm always afraid I will break the key off in the ignition and this sounds like a good idea whether its switched or always on demand. Does one then disconnect the cable that runs to the ignition switch? will the actuator arm return automatically once the trunk latch has opened/...

    2014 rtl tires

bouncy tires I had same issues. When I picked the bike up from the dealer they were HORRIBLE, took them back within the hour and they "rebalanced" them and they were no better, took to auto shop next day and they did the balance on the big expensive new high tech machine, took off a lot of...

Need help with finding headlight wires

Glendas If hooked up according to Clearwater directions, the Glendas go full bright when the high beam on the bike is activated regardless of what setting they are on during regular driving conditions. That is they way they worked on my Wing and that is how they work now on my Spyder RT...

    lithium batteries

batteries AGM stands for Adsorbed Glass Mat and it is basically a spiral wound glass mat with lead that has been soaked in sulfuric acid; so strictly it is still a lead acid battery, but strictly speaking its not flooded. It can accept a charge faster and at a higher voltage than a gel cell...

Need help with finding headlight wires

I am in the process of installing Glenda fog lights and the instructions from Clearwater look like they apply to pre 2014 RT's. My friend had the tupperware off his 2010 RT and I noted the wiring connector and took pictures of the site where his Glendas were installed at Cowtown, but when I...

    2014 RT Fog Lights

fog lights The Glenda lights by Clearwave are worth considering. They light up the road fairly well, but most importantly they make you HIGHLY visible to oncoming traffic, day or night, especially at night. My frined with whom I have ridden many thousands of miles has the Glendas and I speak...

    Bearing Pieces in oil

engine apart You are one gutsy guy! A difficult undertaking and hats off to you. I took the engine out of my 1800 Gold Wing and just took off the back of the engine and the rental, not the purchase price was over $200 for the specialty tools and to split the case and reassembly would have...

    Fuse panel placement

space for fuse panel I am new at the Spyder and where the voids are under the tupperware, but I believe there is enough clearance under the left side of the seat for a six fuse panel, as well as for a + and a - distribution panel and the relays will go on the right side under the seat. I still...

will someone put up some positive stories about the spyder

great concept rode my first Spyder at Biketoberfest the the year they came out. It was raining and with that short windshield and the jerky steering it was a bust, but I liked the concept. Talked with this guy at Americade who said he had just put 10K miles on his Spyder and loved it, but...

    Installing a headlight modulator

modulated headlights I have used modulated headlights for over 200,000 miles on my 1800 Gold Wing and have never had a complaint or got flashed, but I only modulated the LOW beams and I have seen people who modulated their high beams and that pi$$ed me off too, running high beams during the...

    help needed identifying object

I was looking for possible places to mount the control knobs for the Gerbing permanent controllers and I pried up the three blank covers that on the 2014 RT are not used, the ones to the right of the Park and grip heater controls. On prying up the middle one I found this fuse looking white...

Where are the safe places to jack up a 14 RT?

I read the post about jacking up the Spyder to install the heavier swaybar, but where are the safe places to jack up the Spyder with a hydraulic floor jack, say if one only wants to raise the rear end to get the rear wheel off the ground. Is it safe to put jack stands under the A frame? and if...
