• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is there a Code Reader for the Spyder?

BUDS uses an interface that connects to your PC via USB. This looks to be designed for use with an ELM327 adapter and an OBD2 reader.

Is It OK to Make 500 km On the First Day With a Brand-New 2023 Can-Am RT Limited?

Agreed. I also added the foam grip covers from SlingMods. The cushion and larger diameter helped a lot on longer rides.

What do you do for Gas Splash on plastics?? New bike - damaged paint!

I wrap the nozzle with a couple of the blue paper towels at the gas pumps before I start fueling. That way any splash-back gets caught by the towel, and I use them when removing the nozzle to catch any drips. It also keeps the nozzle off the edge of the aluminum flip open bezel. I agree...

Is It OK to Make 500 km On the First Day With a Brand-New 2023 Can-Am RT Limited?

I know many will disagree, and this is nothing like the manufacturer, whose main interest is getting it through the warranty period, recommends. I've never been a fan of an easy break-in period. My main interest is a hard-running engine that will deliver max performance. I prefer to follow the...

    Or a wine. ;)

What did you do to your Spyder today?

That's great. From a business standpoint, it's better to under-promise and over-deliver. It makes for much happier customers.

New Coolant will not circulate after refill, completing successful flush and change - anyone else? Any ideas on what might be causing it?

I'm using my DynoJet PV4 to read temps. The dash gauge, like most idiot gauges on modern cars, doesn't really tell you anything beyond cold, warming up, and OH CRAP overheated! It never moves from mid-scale, even when the temp rises to the factory fan cut-in setting of around 225 degrees...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Got the windshield brackets blasted and painted yesterday. Today I finished the coolant flush and change, and figured I'd give it another wash before replacing the bodywork and giving it a quick polish. As usual, nothing I do is "quick". 🙄 🤣 Five hours later it's fully detailed, reassembled...

New Coolant will not circulate after refill, completing successful flush and change - anyone else? Any ideas on what might be causing it?

This morning I jacked up the front end, added another pint of coolant and started the bike. Within a short time the temp rose to the thermostat opening temp, with no sign of circulation through the radiators. Next, I loosened the bleeder screw at the front of the block, letting a couple ounces...

New Coolant will not circulate after refill, completing successful flush and change - anyone else? Any ideas on what might be causing it?

I wanted to change to the coolant I'm using in other vehicles, so getting all the old coolant out is best practice to avoid issues. Thanks, I'll give that a try.

New Coolant will not circulate after refill, completing successful flush and change - anyone else? Any ideas on what might be causing it?

Thanks Peter, That's what I'm suspecting, as it circulated fine every time I filled it fully when flushing. The only difference besides the coolant is the level I filled it to. I'll know tomorrow if that works.

New Coolant will not circulate after refill, completing successful flush and change - anyone else? Any ideas on what might be causing it?

Well, I did a coolant flush and change today. I cut the Oetiker clamp and disconnected the lower radiator hose to drain the original coolant. It appeared clean, orange, and with no noticeable contamination. I then filled it with distilled water, ran the engine without the pressure cap until...

RT insulation deterioration... Yuck and Wild! Anyone else??

Good point. When the time comes, I'll likely replace it with the lightweight foil faced insulation to keep the heat down. Thanks

Is adding cruise control to a 2015 F3 as simple as changing the switch block?

@CloverHillCrawler, the first time I had to pull all that stuff off was to add a USB power outlet. I wired it directly to the battery, so that I could charge it without the engine running. It's certainly not intuitive how the cluster and all the topside bodywork comes off, but once you've done...

RT insulation deterioration... Yuck and Wild! Anyone else??

My 2015 F3S has the same issue with the foam insulation. I just try not to touch it when I have the panels off. I suspect eventually it will get so bad that I have to remove it all. Did it make a big difference in mechanical noise when idling or riding?

    Buying used - 2015 Spyder F3-S - is this milage/usage a concern?

If it's clean and no damage, I'd start in the $10k range. I found my nearly immaculate, 9600 mile 2015 last fall for $8k, but I think I just got lucky.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Finished the clutch assist install. The only part I bought from BRP was the solenoid, as the rest was just hoses and a check valve. I cable-tied the solenoid to the back of the ECU bracket instead of using screws, as there is very limited access. It reduced the clutch pull from 14# to 9#, which...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Picked up the solenoid to add clutch assist to my F3S. I pulled all the bodywork off to do the install, and decided while I have it apart I'm going to flush the coolant and refill with Peak Final Charge PRO series coolant. I have all the front and side bodywork off, and I'll be cleaning up all...

A 150cc engine suggests it's an internal combustion engine running on hydrogen. There was no mention of a fuel cell in what I read.

Is Running Diesel Oil in Your Spyder such a good idea?

The important part is heeding the API specs recommended by the manufacturer, as those ensure compatibility with seals, bearings, and piston ring materials. That said, manufacturers absolutely have other considerations besides performance and longevity when specifying oils. These low viscosity...
