• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bicycle pump or air compressor ?

Slime is supposed to draw only 3 amps, but I've seen many reviews where they are infected with shorts.

Bicycle pump or air compressor ?

Just stay away from the Slime compressors. Blew my power port out the first time I used it -- now I only plug it into my wife's car!;)

Saddle bags... Who has them lets see them

Love my BRP bags. Lots of room, easy on and off. Went cross-country on them with no problems. I also like that the entire rack mounting frame comes off super-easy. If I get another bike, I'll take the Givi's with me since they make racks for most newer sport bikes. pics at...

    Route 66 trip

I did Rt 66 from IL to Needles this summer. Great ride, lots of fun. I rode solo, but you're never really solo when you're out there. Lots of folks riding the Mother road. pics at http://picasaweb.google.com/lowflyingowl I didn't have any hotel/campground reservations and had no problems...

International Cycle show - San Mateo

Anyone going besides us? My son and I will be there by about 9:309. Hope to see some more Spyder folks at the BRP tent -- not to mention the new RT.

    Which is better

I have and enjoy the 550, but as far as I can tell, the main difference between the 550 and the 660 is the 660 does not have XM. I've had the XM on my 550 and found it not very interesting, although it works well enough. But you can't get stereo music with the 550 anyway without a wire -- its...

    BUELL closing ???

HD is bleeding more than Buell and MV Agusta. They also have cut back on production drastically and may close the York PA plant. Don't know how the India plant fits into this, but expect that plant to only produce for the local market -- lots of folks over there like the HD image. Too bad...

    Spyder Dealerships

OUr dealers out here all started as boat dealers and got into BRP that way. I know others back East who started as cycle dealers, got into BRP with ATV's and Ski-doos. Honda didn't have a jet ski or snowmobile for a whiel, so maybe that's where the dealars hooked up with BRP. I've heard some...

    Corbin Fairing

I have the Corbin fairing and really like it. It came on the Spyder, which also had custom paint, Corbin seats, other goodies too numerous to mention. One of the goodies is the Garmin 660 with XM, and I have the XM antenna mounted under the fairing. Also mounted under the fairing is my garage...

    Riders

If I get back there again next year, I'll look you up! Was back near you this summer-- up north of Scranton but got there via York, Harrisburg, and also spent a day out at Kutztown. Great riding country you have there!

    Troubles w/my Spyder

If they rebuild only the oil pump, I wouldn't do another 600 mile service. I did on mine since I had a complete new engine. BTW, I didn't pay any $300 for that, either. Its basically just the oil change plus plugging it into the computer to see if the engine throws any error codes. I paid...

    National Spyder Rally in Colorado?

I already climbed Pikes Peak with my Spyder, but earlier in June -- froze my butt off on June 8! :yikes: Going back down, I ran into another Spyder rider heading up -- who didn't look like he had enough winter gear on.... But, considering that there is a Dunkin Donuts just down the hill, I'd...

    Troubles w/my Spyder

Oh, gee, sorry about this, but it looks like you have experienced the oil pump failure, which usually results, if not found in time, in a blown engine. Mine blew and i now have a new engine. Looks like they caught yours in time ( mine had the noise also but no one paid attention...). Took me...

    Stock pipe

Mine looks just as bad. I've covered it up with hard bags. I might pick up a used one from my dealer who is going out of the business....

Spyder Engine Replaced - Thx Carlo, BRP, APS

Tom, How I got them all talking was by e-mailing to Spyder tech support and to my dealer, expressing my perception that they each were waiting for the other to act. I also sent an e-mail to the CEO of BRP. The dealer is shipping the engine back to BRP. They hope to hear something and will...

Spyder Engine Replaced - Thx Carlo, BRP, APS

Follow-up to my Engine Gone post of Aug 11... After 1 month, got the Spyder back from my dealer today. Although I did much hollering and complaining at first :roflblack: , which seemed to be necessary to get the attention of both dealer and BRP, with help from Carlo at BRP and the guys...

    riding without warranty

After having my engine replaced under warranty, I'm not going to take any chances with my 24K investment. My factory warranty will be up in June 2010 and I sure will get the BEST. Mind, this is the first time I've ever thought of getting an extended warranty for any vehicle, but its also the...

Need parts list for BRP saddle bags

Looks great! :2thumbs: I've got the hard bags also, but i didn't shell out for any inserts. Now that I see how good yours look with the inserts, I guess that's next! I really like how portable these bags are. Coming across country, I left one one the bike with stuff I wouldn't need, took...
