• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Your Thoughts

My thoughts I checked a few minutes ago, the offer has ended. We now know for sure that there are at least two Spyder owners who are not members of SpyderLovers.Com. nojoke

    Highway peg location

Highway Peg Location I just looked at the Custon Dynamics website and their video. The location of the foot pegs is forward and outside the "bat wings". I'm a 6 footer with a 30 inch inseam, that location just seems too wide for me. I just finished a non-stop 120+ mile ride yesterday, I have...

SITR - SITA, what about SITS?

Warning! Starwars alert! How abouth SITH (Spyders in the Heat) Florida in May and September, at least Central Florida is nearly unridable, is that even a word. Love Bugs swarm in May and September. :yikes: The little buggers are really nasty, their smashed little bodies eat clear coat and...

    Added oil to Spyder today.

Oil? I have no idea, the repair invoice for the 600 mile service just lists BRP Spyder Oil Change Kit (SE5) 991 for $89.99. I'm going to check with BaJa Ron about getting the filters, seals and Amsoil so I can change the oil myself. I got a lift from Harbor Freight for $60 and it lifts...

    Did You or Didn't You?

Kinda Sorta I had a Simplex motorcycle back in 1958 before I turned 16. Rode it over the back roads of the Thumb of Michigan. Got nabbed by the State Troopers on Memorial Day weekend impeding traffic on the one north south highway (2 lane) in the county. The judge told my dad to get my drivers...

    Added oil to Spyder today.

I'm planning a ride to meet up with family later this week and also planning on meeting a mob of Spyder Lovers in Lake Placid on Saturday. I took :ani29: out for a ride and stopped at the shop I rent to check the oil level. After checking a couple of times, I was sure that the oil level...

    Brake fluid,open can

Brake Fluid and Brake Fluid Reservoir When I installed my Comfort Seat, I noticed that it would be easy to top off the brake fluid, if it needed it, it didn't. Since then, I couldn't help noticing the location of the reservoir and how hard it is to view let along fill. Looks to be a real PITA...

    Bacon popcorn

Bacon My neighborhood butcher sells chocolate covered baconnojoke, haven't tried it, though the idea is delicious. Maybe I'll buy a couple and take them home. I expect my wife will think I'm completely crazy. :roflblack: Maybe not, better she just suspect than have confirmation. :)

Two wheel enclosed self balancing motorcycle

Cool idea I like it! If they can get it to work and make it affordable, there could be a future for it, at least in urban areas. The big knock on electric vehicles has been cost and limited range. As cyclists, I think many of us agree that there are far too many vehicles on the roads taking up...

    "Wimpy Winter"

Wimpy Weather Back in the old days! :roflblack: I lived in Niles, Michigan, that's snow belt country in southwest Michigan. I was a steelhead fisherman, and liked to fish at the dam near Berrian Springs on the Saint Joseph River. One year we had over one hundred and forty inches of snow, it...

What do you guys think? would you ride this?

I'd love to test drive it! It would be fun to see how HD engineered the concept. I'd love a test ride, but my hands don't allow very long rides on machines that require lever pulling by these old hands.

    Too Busy to Ride!

Too busy I worked from the time I was 14 until 64. Had a career in the military and the Post Office. Six months after the Post Office I was stocking groceries overnight in my local Walmart, did that for 5 1/2 years. When my son finlly graduated from college, I gave up punching someone...

    Public Service Notice

Unwanted telephone calls I put my home phone, a land line, on the Do Not Call List when it started. While that reduces the number of calls, it doesn't eliminate them all. Besides, the politicians who wrote the laws gave exemptions to several of their "friends" There are at least two problems...

    My first video

Ride on the snow Great video of a snow mobile ride. Looks like you had fun. I don't do cold any more. Born in far north Minnesota, grew up on the east side of Michigan. I lived in Niles in the early 80s. Saw all the snow I ever wanted to see. Your ride reminded me of why I moved to Florida...

    Hybrids and MPG

A thread on the Hybrid Spyder inspired this, I don't want to high jack that thread, so I will start another. All current hybrid vehicles suffer from the same defect, that being battery technology which hasn't caught up with motor technology. Powerful electrical motors exist that propel vehicles...

    Southern Ride Advice.

Trip planning southern and elsewhere I like to plan trips for the :f_spider: and what I do is use Google Maps. You can pick a starting point and an ending point. Click "Get directions" and look at the route proposed. You have options, like avoid highways, and avoid tolls :yikes: by checking one...
