• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Whats the average age of Spyder Riders?

What's the average age? If the range tends toward 50-70, by the calendar, I'm pushing the high end. When :spyder:hits it's 2nd anniversary in my garage, my clock will hit 70 . If you want to know how old I feel, I just finished high school and won the lottery, I can ride my :spyder2...

    EU without Greece?

EU without Greece I just read that the Greek PM has decided not to have a referendum. He is now talking to the other political parties, they hope to form some sort of consensus about how to handle the situation. Personally, I don't see any way Greece can find their way out of the mess years of...

I plan on keeping my 2008 Spyde for a long time

I plan on keeping my Spyder forever When I decided to buy a :spyder: I visited the nearest dealer and sat on a then new 2010 RT, didn't care for the feeling. Sat on a 2009 GS and decided this is for me . My wife won't even consider getting on anything open, and my GS fits me. I will be...

What is it about the Spyder that

Why I like my Spyder No longer a spring chicken :D, hate the idea of putting my feet down to balance a 700 pound machine at every stop light. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in both hands, MSF course on 2 wheelers almost ruined my weekend. I'm getting around 150+ miles before needing to stop for fuel...

    Nitrogen for Tires?

Nitrogen for Tires I heard about this a few years ago, my brother had the tires on his Sportrak filled with nitrogen at the urging of his service department. Cost a pretty penny :yikes:. I was not impressed by the arguments for it. The air we breath is almost 80% nitrogen. Nitrogen is a smaller...

Spyder Brakes. Did anyone try to change HB brake calipers or pads to anything else?

Spyder Brakes I love 'em! More than once some idiot has decided they need my lane more than I do and my :spyder2: brakes kept me from becoming a sad stat. Additionally, I have made several abrupt stops when signals suddenly turned red and I was able to come to a complete stop without the...

    Battery Maintainer

I use the Deltran Battery Tender Junior (5 year warranty and can be left on hot for extended periods without damaging battery) on my 2009 RS. My neighbor, an electrical engineer who owns three motorcycles which he maintains and rides regularly recommended it. The unit is switched, it includes...

    Gas Mileage

Gas mileage I've gotten between 27 and 33 mpg. Tried alcohol free gas, didn't seem to make a difference, but cost 50 cents a gallon more. Best mpg was 33+ with 87 octane from BP station. Most of my fuel has come from Murphy Oil (Walmart Store locations). May try BP again when this tank of Citgo...

    Junk In The Trunk

Junk in the trunk All the post here, or at least most are proof of the axiom about space: Regardless of the amount of space available, stuff will accumulate until more space is required. :roflblack: On day trips, I carry a bare minimum of stuff, the papers for the :spyder: and a space pair...

Question about BRP Tour Demo at Biketoberfest

Test Ride Cool :D I registered for a test ride, the registration site didn't really say which models would be available. If the RT wasn't going to be available, I would cancel so someone else could get a ride. Since the wifey refuses to ride, I really don't see changing to an RT, but would like...

Question about BRP Tour Demo at Biketoberfest

I am planning on being at the BRP tent at Biketoberfest on Thursday. This will be my first visit to any bike event. Sanford Bikefest was washed out for me this past weekend :(. 30 + mph winds and driving rain for three days in Melbourne kept me inside. Does the BRP Demo include both versions...

    Key in Frunk

I keep my spare key on a lanyard around my neck under my shirt whenever I ride. Part of my pre-ride ritual is to hang that key around my neck. It doesn't get in the way, and it doesn't get lost/locked away. But, that's just me. The lanyard came from Sports Authority and cost less than $5.

    Biketoberfest Questions

I only live 90 miles south of the Daytona International Speedway. It would be an easy two hour ride for me visit. I have never been to any bike rally, and have some questions, mainly about expenses. I know about tee-shirts and beer, I'm wondering about things like entry fees (tickets) to access...

    canam giveaway

Survey I got the 2011motorcyclesurvey postcard yesterday. There was a PIN# (which is redundant: PIN stands for Personal Identification Number # also stands for number) the card was obviously designed by a political science major, you know the one who uses the ATM machine. :roflblack: At any...

    Spyder Patch?

Spyder Rider Patch/Welcome Package It would appear that BRP only ships welcome packages about 4 times a year, I spoke to them in mid July, my package arrived yesterday 8 or 9 weeks after the rep said he was ordering it. Considering I bought my :f_spider: in July of 2010, that's not too bad...

Look out for this new 3 wheeler to blow you off the road!

Treycycle Just watched the video. I live in Melbourne, hadn't heard about this. Cool, however at $31K each, it will likely be a niche buy. V-8 engine but need a motorcycle endorsement to drive. A few years ago, I say a Thunderbird in the Georgia welcome area that had been converted to front...

    Should I park here???

Confusing wording I'm going with "NO motorcycle parking". :( If it was a designated motorcycle parking space, they should have left the word 'NO' out. In the end, if you park there, someone will complain.:gaah:
