• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    What GPS do you have

GPS plus Maps About 8 years ago, I did my last cross country solo, using my Garmin 550 and a tank bag with maps folded in a waterproof cover on the tank bag. This allowed me to have an overall picture of where I was going without zooming in and out. Maps are also the backup system should...

    Turning off the electronics

Are there certain switch sequences to turn on or off the various stability systems in an F3? After seeing the Police Edition of the F3, it would seem possible to program any of the F3 Spyders so as to turn off the stab slitty control system in part of whole. Any thoughts? I think i saw...

    polaris slingshot burns to ground

Sad Before purchasing my new Spyder, I gave serious thought to one of these. Basically the lack of response from the dealer was what turned me off, and after careful study, decided this was more of a car than motorcycle, and I had a Porsche Cabriolet, so i did not need another "car". It is...

    What GPS do you have

GPS, discount from Garmin I have just ordered a Zumo 595LM from Garmin, trading in my Zumo 550 which was no longer working. The 550 had two solo cross country trips on it from years ago, was very nice when it could handle the maps. The good news, for shipping this back to Garmin, I get 20%...

    BRP belt tensioner

Another check this evening, the vibration is so variable, dependent on speed, load, road surface, and the good news, mine seems tolerable at 68 mph, yet can be severe at both lower and higher speeds, all load dependent.

@Deerslayer Yup, hook 'em up and try it. BTW, about 40 miles from you... K4MTL I may have heard you on the Sparta repeater.

    BRP belt tensioner

Observation If we are experiencing a harmonic vibration, i.e., belt and chassis in unison, then it is quite possible this will be different on the various models of Spyder all of which have different chassis harmonics due to the configuration and accessories, such as the seat on the RT touring...

    Sena 20 Speaker upgrade

Speaker adaptation As folks are discussing speakers, and I cannot find a better thread, I will ask this question. Also, if I need to be redirected to a different thread, please help me out. I have an ARAI helmet with an Audiocom wired system, 7 pin, direct connect with a complicated Audiocom...

    Catalytic Converter Delete

Sounds great Now with about 275 miles on the Roadster, at least 100 with the new pipe in, I think it is fine without the baffle, just running through the stock rear muffler. One question, is the rear muffler basically a straight through design or are there baffles inside creating some back...

Vibration between 70 and 80 MPH?

FYI Discussed this issue with some folks who race those big cars, begins with N..... who must remain anonymous, but their thinking was this is clearly a design defect and should at some point be warrantable. The vibration is so severe, I cannot ride between 68 and 76 mph, thus on the...

    BRP belt tensioner

Hot thread... It would seem my experience is the vibration on my Spyder is clearly related to vehicle speed and throttle on or off. So, there may be other vibrations with the engine, not something i have noticed. Not a recall, IMO, but could be a warranty issue if someone has some type of...

Congratulations, I think you will learn to love it. My first experience, about 8 years ago, required a learning curve. My current Spyder, sweet from the git-go.

    Manual Or Semi-Auto?

Control with "auto" This morning, happened to find myself behind a new Corvette,,,, the one with four pipes in back, looks sleek.... He lit up the tires for about 50 feet, went on up the road. He actually did not come out of the hole quickly, but with lots of show.... Next intersection, we...

    Catalytic Converter Delete

Hi Guess Lamont must be a mod on this forum as he posted the sticky with the rules... But, I just installed one of his pipes after removing the catalytic converter.... Getting the springs back in place.....not the job for an old lady, however, after enough four letter words and the spring just...

    GPS Question

GPS Having had several Garmin units starting with my old Zumo for motorcycles about 10 years ago, I have been through almost every frustration basecamp has to offer. SO, I use Google maps, evaluate various routes, then enter start and finish into my Garmin GPS head unit, add waypoints as...

Sitting on a Spyder without asking? Anyone have this problem?

Great thread I suspect I may react in an unpleasant manner if I found someone sitting on my Spyder, but, most likely I would engage in a conversation. The end may be something like, "And, why the #^%$^$ do you think you can just sit on someone else's property without suffering consequences...

Possible 2016 F3 T New Owner in Arizona after advice

Newbie here Just picked up my new one three days ago. Love it. And, the 2016 models carry a nice discount if one is diligent about negotiations. As to Arizona....few years back on a solo trip from NC to San Diego... I-10....on a BMW K1200RS...120 miles in an hour....love Arizona! I think...

Ladies (or men) on two-wheelers, some help?

Love it I have discovered several improvements on the new Spyder, even the anti-sleep function about 70 mph.... The vibration is something which can be corrected. The biggest difference is the less touchy steering, much easier to drive fast. My only health issue is my age, and I...

    Manual Or Semi-Auto?

Old folks need Semi-Auto.... LOL Having ridden some on two wheels, and now at age 74 decided this was not a great idea anymore, and having had a manual 996 Spyder years ago, I drifted off to my local dealer. First issue was the rather difficult clutch pull with arthritic hands.... thus, the...
