• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Do LED auxiliary lights cause electrical problems?

I have added aux beam headlights to my GS. I mounted then to the A arms, and they really brighten the road in front of the bike. I have one pointed towards the edge of the road more to let me see any critters that might be lurking there. I'm much more noticeable by cars also. I ran mine with a...

    Solo Ride

Call ahead of time. They had a story in the radio this morning that many hotels are still filled with people without homes and won't have vacancies for a month. I would check before you leave to be safe.

    PROBABLY A DUMB QUESTION BUT...

You can jump it from a vehicle, but shut the vehicle off before you try and jump it.

    Had a little scare today

When you set the belt alignment, did you run the bike with the wheels off the ground? The nanny will freak out if it see the rear wheel turning, and not the fronts. As you saw once you ride it a bit the errors will clear up.

    Bad news slipping clutch

This was a common issue on the older models. I've had the bolt break in the output shaft, that required the whole shaft to be replaced. Luckily it was under warranty. The bolt came loose a couple of times since then, and I didn't notice it one time, that time the splines on the front drive out...

Thats it..... !! That's all the 'upgrades' bring!?

You could have a Spyder for $10k. Go with a manual transmission, use an older cluster like the RS's had, go back to the V-twin motors. A base RS stripped down. Lots of other manufacturers are doing that trying to get millennials into the market.

    FOBO Question

FOBO states you should expect to get up to two years of battery life depending on the usage, and ambient temperature. If that's the case, then not using the app very much and only getting one year of battery life means, not using the app isn't having any benefit, or a very little impact on the...

2011 spyder rt-s oil blow by

I'm having this same issue with my GS. The dealer I took it to last fall said it was coming from the fitting where the vent hose goes into the cylinder head, and that they fixed it. Which they didn't, plus over filled my oil when they changed it. I'm not going back to that dealer this fall. I...

Headlight adjustment on a 08 GS.

I watched the light move as I turned the screw. The light mount is a tight fit in the plastic housing so it won't move very much at first, then it will make a big shift all at once. It can take a lot of turns on the screw to get it to move.

    RSS 2012 racks for saddlebags

It might be easier to find some soft material to put on the bags so they won't scratch the paint. That is what Nelson-rigg has on theirs. They didn't leave a mark on my paint after the 2000 mile round trip ride to and from Valcourt for Homecoming.

    Check Engine/Check Transmission

While you're looking at the gear position sensor, you might want to check the front sprocket, and make sure the bolt holding it in is tight.

    GS 2008 Brakes

My 08 GS did that until last fall. My dealer replaced the rear pads and it hasn't squeaked since. I'm not sure how long it will last, but I'm enjoying it while it does. Lol

Another Spyder accident - distracted driving

This is why in my motorcycle safety class, they stressed to us to leave a safe path out of this situation. This includes stopping with enough room between your motorcycle and the vehicle in front of you so that you can move out of the way if the car behind you is not going to stop before hitting...

    2009 can am not moving

I would check the splines on the front sprocket. That happened to mine. The bolt that holds the front sprocket in came out and the sprocket shifted. This caused the sound to wear away.

Headlight adjustment on a 08 GS.

The screws turn just fine, but the lights don't seem to move at all. Looks like I'm going to have to pull the instrument cluster and see what is going on. That or they are already at the max adjustment.

Headlight adjustment on a 08 GS.

Has anyone had to adjust the headlights on a 08 GS. I have the shop manual so I know where the screws are located. I would like to raise mine up to help them shine father down the road. It doesn't seem to matter which way I turn the screw, they don't move. Thanks.
