• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3 with Blue Ridge - Modifications to help with turbulence

Disappointed with F3 Madstad turbulence We have a Madstad on our 2009 RS and it has been good. I have just fitted a Madstad to our F3 and I don't feel that it works as well, especially for the pillion rider. I often ride pillion and the vicious turbulence shakes my head so badly at any sort...

    I hate to ask but......

Corbin seat warranty/guarantee service We just received our F3 dual seat and to my surprise (my fault) I had forgotten that they don't build it to the same seating point as the factory seat. On the Corbin seat you are about 1.5" further back; in our case that would mean new handlebars and...

    Gearing

I don't believe we have seen anyone complete the job so far. One forum member bought sprocket and belt last year but found that that put his SE model into limp mode. He did not post further to say what was needed and his last post suggested that he had spent enough. I would like to gear our...

    2009 RS versus 2015 F3 Fuel Consumption

Same route, same time, same speeds. Glendale (Phoenix) to Tortilla Flat, Payson, Camp Verde and home again. 300 miles, and Payson where we filled the first time just happened to be the halfway mark as well. Initial speeds were around 60 to 65mph on undulating ground. My wife and I left the...

    Switched from 2012 RSS SE5 to 2015 F3S SE6

The Automated System Cannot Shift Too Soon - trust it Trust the way it's built - it won't let you shift before a certain amount of revs have built up, which varies from gear to gear. First to second will take place at around 11mph and around or just over 2000 rpm, but 5th to 6th won't take...

    Uncomfortable cornering

My wife was driving and took an off-camber corner a little too hard at about 20mph. I was on the pillion. We tipped over so far that when I put my foot out to bring us back I could easily touch the ground from the pillion seat. Had I not done so we would have been over. It seems that two-up...

2015 RT Limited, 3000 mile service, now low mpg

Eco Mode doesn't use less fuel in itself Eco Mode doesn't use less fuel in itself. Eco Mode encourages the rider to shift sooner and thus, through keeping engine revs lower, save a smidgen or half smidgen of fuel every tank. It won't cause your fuel consumption to increase by 50%. Unless...

USING THE ECO MODE 1330 Engine

I forgot to add the other truism - accelerating both bikes at the same rate and in the same gears, with one in ECO and one not, will use exactly the same amount of fuel.

USING THE ECO MODE 1330 Engine

The faster you drive and the lower the gear the more fuel you use At constant speed both systems will return the same fuel consumption, as you found. ECO mode is designed to get people to shift sooner and turn the throttle less to get there (up to speed) and thus save a little fuel. Even the...

    F3 S- Motor Seize

They must have changed their test ride policy shortly after that. Ride Now insist that none of their 37 or 38 stores provide test or demo rides of any sort, to anyone.

Engine Locked Down, BRP Want Cover Under Warranty

Don't let your dealer get away with doing nothing Correct. You are being stalled until you give up. Work 'em hard, man! What's taking so long? Your dealer is giving you the runaround big-time, I'm sorry to say. Their action is completely inexcusable. They are no longer your friends, but...

Engine Locked Down, BRP Want Cover Under Warranty

This has been going on for way too long. If the matter has not yet been resolved you will need to apply pressure to the dealer, if BRP won't deal with you. Everyone is stalling for time. The longer they can play it out the less likely you are to cost either of them any money. Shame. All the...

Engine Locked Down, BRP Want Cover Under Warranty

Overfuelling a Spyder Engine Will Cool It, Overfuelling a Diesel Engine Will Cook It Just in case someone misunderstands your comment... I'm sure you weren't suggesting that the problem was caused in this case by "overfuelling" even though there was a JuiceBox fitted. For those who aren't...

    Gas Milage with the RS

3,200 + 200 = 3500? I know you are just averaging out for safety's sake. It's so subtle that the engine doesn't speed up at all? Isn't this an over-centre clutch that locks up at a certain rpm, but unlocks at a somewhat lower rpm? I would have thought that BRP would have designed the auto...

    Front wheel in the air

The VSS Will Have Done Its Job Before You Realised Anything Was Happening I have to admit I thought like you briefly, before I put it all together. When it lifted the inside wheel the second time I realised that the safety system was, indeed, working properly! Here's how I knew: When I left...

    Gas Milage with the RS

You must be referring to the SE5. I don't believe your information is correct. I have done 400 miles on two different RT SE5s, one with about 4,000 miles and the other with over 20,000 miles. On neither was there any sign of clutch slip once under way. I don't remember at what speed the...

    Gas Milage with the RS

Would you have those ratios handy? And the gear tooth numbers? With a 6500rpm ceiling? It would need to be 1400cc or more. Actually, we would gain quite a lot with an appropriate wide ratio gearbox. First needs to be a lot lower to help with trailer and hill take-offs, and also in slow or...

    Gas Milage with the RS

The Only Economy With A Spyder Was BRP's Compromise of Using The Wrong Gearbox Ratios That actually is the reverse of what really happens. The higher the revs, the more fuel you use. The faster you travel, the more fuel you use. Even if you use a lower gear with seemingly less throttle...

    Other exhausts

RS-S with Yoshi R-77 Slip On I have never gone for louder exhausts since I was 17 with a 250 Honda. ;-) However our new/used RS-S came with a Yoshi R-77 and it is just amazing. It just cracks from the rider's seat, but is still quite innocuous from the roadside. Here is how it looks: It...
