• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Hit an Alligator Today

WHEW! Glad there wasn't any more damage than a dirty pair of underwear.:yikes: I tangled with a construction cone about the same way (well it didn't move, but it was a glancing blow) and it broke my left fender.

    A busy weekend.

Three weeks ago I pulled my :spyder: into the garage and got busy. A little back ground; approximately two or three weeks before that I had done an oil change and gone straight up synthetic oil instead of using the BRP "blend". Shortly after I was getting oil dripping inside the right hand...

    Update on steering.

Oh yeah! To the tune of 400 mi a week!:2thumbs: And that's if I don't do anything but ride to work and back. But I find myself looking for excuses to do other things...."Hey honey, ya need me to run to Walgreen's after work? Really, I don't mind at all!"

    Helmet Suggestion....

Yep it has the air pump in it. I never use it. It fits snug enough on its own. Truthfully I wouldn't recommend it. It works awesome in the winter, but there are still things I don't like about it. One it is a heavy helmet, two the ventilation sucks for anything over about 90F. And if...

    Helmet Suggestion....

I have the BRP badged Scorpion EXO. I adjusted the hinges to their furthest aft position. On the right side of the helmet both screw holes are slotted. On the left side of the helmet, just the bottom is due to the top being the pivot hinge for the sun shade. Another thing I found you need to...

    Helmet Suggestion....

Make that a too small helmet as well. I got the BRP GSX-2 (Scorpion EXO, says so on the inside of the chin bar:ohyea:) and I got a small at first. Noisy, windy, fogged up like mad....absolutely hated it. It started falling apart after two months so I sent it back for warranty and upsized to a...

    Update on steering.

I have put over 2,000 miles on my bike since the DPS and torque angle sensor got changed and have had no problems. That would include two driving snow storms, a week straight of 25 - 30 mph winds with gusts up to 50 mph; 95% of that direct crosswind, and wildly varying temperatures from 90F to...

Do you use Ear Plugs ?

I just do what the voices in my wife's head tell me to do.:shemademe_smilie:

Do you use Ear Plugs ?

I cannot find those anymore. The only thing out there now are the cheap :cus: white foam ones that can only be used once. Those yellow ones were good for weeks. The AF started to get them just before I got out and then the companies at all the maintenance contracts did too, but here lately I...

Do you use Ear Plugs ?

Mines not that bad, but I can tell you this much, nearly 20 yrs around screaming jet engines haven't done my ears any favors. I double protected around the F-16 (ear plugs and mickey mouse ears) and still think they did the most damage. So I definitely wear earplugs while riding. I had to go...

Other motorcycle companies should sue BRP

And that's when you ask them when they rode last. Especially after the weather we've had here in the Panhandle of TX. The last week has been 25 - 30 mph winds with gusts up to 50 mph at times.

Can-bus ..What is it and how does it work?

Thanks Confirmed what I was thinking. Very basic explanation, but like you said, that is a good thing.

Blue or Black? Help me decide...

Anyone know how much the white panels are going for? My vote is for blue fenders and black bags.

Spring is here and ryding season has begun!

:yikes: I paid $92 for a BFG G-Force through The Tire Rack, then another $70 at the local Honda shop for remove, mount, balance, and re-install. I only have about 4k on the BFG, but it appears to be wearing better than the OEM. It was gone @ 8k. If I get 13k out of the BFG I'll be happy.

Thinking about buying a Spyder -- Questions --

I've had the steering issue and would buy the bike again in a heartbeat. I have an excellent dealer and he has worked with me to the hilt. After working with him and reading some of the horror stories posted on here I can say a good dealer will make all the difference in how you feel about...

    Front Tires

Guess I'm lazy.:D Don't want to deal with the hassle of that. I did for the first week I had my bike until my leathers came in, haven't bothered since. I wore jeans while riding, then had to change to slacks for work. Now I just put on work clothes and put the leathers on over.

    Front Tires

From straight on looks like an Indy car.:2thumbs: Like that tire size, but I think I would have to see if I could get a set of Prowler fenders to fit or something.:ohyea:

    Front Tires

Tires can change the handling of any vehicle, and every manufacturer chooses tires based on many factors. But ones choice in tires depends on what one is looking for, which may not be what the manufacturer was looking for when choosing that particular tire. What is more important to you, ride...
