• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    traction control?

On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life ... Maybe they should hand out Cliffs Notes with motorcycle licenses. Just because we've tried to make things as safe as possible and mitigate risk, some do their best to make...

KRIKIT II Wrong or Right, Please help...

Just sand the ledge off and set your belt close to 180 with it. Who knows what the tension would read with the sonic meter, but it seems to be much better and in line with what others, including Lamonster, have indicated to be appropriate for our machines. It is working great on mine!

    Odd squeak when backing up

The third generation pads did it for me also. I had been using the brake quiet gel and it would work for a while, but I kept having to reapply. The third gen have been great so far.

Evo Sway Bar I was going to wait for my RT springs to arrive to install the Evo Swaybar, but I had some free time. I am glad I did it. I like to be able to determine the effect of each mod individually. I can say that this should have been one of my first mods. I've read others say that it...

I have a set on the way. I have a good heavy duty spring compressor, so I'll tackle it soon!

Use the search function on the top menu bar. You'll find many posts regarding this subject. It's no secret, but it's not a good idea either.

    More Mods

I decided it's time to start one thread to document all my mods rather than several strung out all over the place. The links below are some of the major highlights. Paint- http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9544 Wheels-...

    Should I be upset?

I don't know about mad, but it certainly confirms an observation I've made since owning my spyder. I've never owned a street bike of any kind before, so I wasn't aware of how terrible most dealers are. If my car dealer performed as poorly as many of these can-am dealers do, I'd buy some place...

    Drive Belt alignment issue

I noticed that when I torque the axle nut, the axle "walks" towards the rear of the Spyder. I will be changing my rear tire next weekend, so I am going to try to use a ratchet strap around the hub and the cross section of the swingarm to keep the adjusters tight and ensure the axle does not...

Does anyone wear leather when they ride??

That's great I got a good laugh out of it. However, I am a huge fan of PETA... People Eating Tasty Animals! ;)

    Handlebar risers

Jeez... Now I'm feeling the spyderlovers love! Thanks for the compliment. It wasn't too terribly hard, just required a fair amount of measuring and test fitting. I measured several times before I drilled the frame and relocated the ignition switch. I took the old adage of "measure twice; cut...

    Need a new wind shield...

I've seen another poster on here that did just that. There are directions that come with the bracket on how to make a drilling template, so you shouldn't have a problem with hole placement.

    Better check your fuel filter!

It was the original fuel filter, so it was only approximately two years and 7k miles old. It shouldn't have failed in my opinion. I don't know if they ever changed part numbers or suppliers. Maybe someone else has more insight.

You can also just replace the bars entirely! Here's what I did with mine. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21013

    Better check your fuel filter!

I had a bit of a surprise when I went for a ride this morning. I started it, went in the house to put on my jacket and helmet, and by the time I got back out to the garage I had a large puddle of fuel on the floor below the spyder. :yikes: I immediately shut it off and pulled the panels...

    Need a new wind shield...

I just changed mine today. I had the largest Cal Sci, which I liked until I replaced my bars. After replacing my bars, I have a more upright position. My head was being blasted by the wind again, so I went with the Madstad 24". I went riding for a couple miles on a couple different...

The wing and carbon fiber are on

Although I absolutely hate the 2 fast, 2 rediculous looking wing, the carbon hood looks great!

    insurance rates

I also have Progressive and it was greatly reduced this month. Same exact policy I've had for the last two years, but about half the price.

    15 inch mags

Ride Wright does not need an adapter. They bolt right up, because they are custom cut for the Spyder. They are a fantastic wheel, but you will have to modify your fenders if you have to have them.
