• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

brp site is up w/ new models

I noticed that too... I was wondering who was going to bring out that well beaten horse.... So that's why your posts say you're the site troublemaker.:2thumbs:

brp site is up w/ new models

Looking at the specifications, it doesn't seem like the load capacity is increased by much either. I'm guessing that overweight couples may still have the same problem they had with the original spyder. I remember seeing more than one post with questions on how to increase the load bearing...

    2010 Spyders?

Yeah, no kidding. I guess even freedom of information on the internet is tainted. I have always assumed that if it wasn't sensative information that would endanger the lives of troops (opsec), or if it wasn't indecent (porn), that, as free citizens, we could post things on this forum that...

"IF" BRP comes out with a Touring Spyder...

"IF" BRP does more work to acknowledge the problems with the current models without making some condescending remark insinuating that the fault lies with consumers that have made slight modifications, I will consider buying another BRP product. I don't expect anything to be perfect, especially...

    Sidecar

With four wheels, does that change how the vehicle is registered? If you do go forward with it, I'm looking forward to the pics. Whatever you decide; be safe!

    Exhaust wrap

I have had my exhaust wrapped for about 3k miles and have had the Leo Vince for about the same amount of time and haven't had any major issues. I have noticed some increase in deceleration backfire, but it is not major. I did notice that the "under plastic" temps seem much lower and that is...

Making the Spyder even more Stable

If you are concerned with body roll, I think some people have had great success with Ken's swaybar. I think you'd be better off investing in that for two reason. 1. It is proven. 2. It looks much better than I could ever imagine training wheels looking.

    Clutch covers

I have to walk a thin line. A little bit of a mark is a good conversation starter as people ask you what you ride. However, as a Staff Sergeant in the Army, I have to keep my uniform perfect. When we had the black boots it wasn't that big of a deal, a little kiwi boot polish would fix...

    Clutch covers

I have one on my Spyder to keep from getting a black spot on my tan boots. It seems to work pretty well.

FIRST SNELL & DOT RATED FLIP UP HELMET

I've read several articles that indicate snell ratings are more hype than anything. In order to achieve this rating they are put through unrealistic test that force the helmet to be much harder than necessary. Unfortunately if the helmet is too rigid, it transfers most of the impact energy to...

    Have you painted your Spyder?

I didn't have any great ideas for paint, so I went to a hot rod shop and asked for ideas. I knew I wanted to go with blue and dark grey or black, so the owner of the shop gave me some suggestions. I think they did a great job. They allowed me to bring in all the pieces of the Spyder already...

    Aerocharger Turbocharger Kit for spyders

Actually, there have already been a few threads to discuss the dyno process. You don't have to disable the VSS, you just point all the wheel speed sensors away from the wheels so that they all read zero. The VSS does not see a difference in wheel speed and will not activate the traction...

USO RUN LEBANON MO 13 June 2009

Well guys, unfortunately I have to pull out of this one. I had another engagement come up that I can't avoid... I was really looking forward to doing this. I would still love to get together and ride, so keep me informed of future events. Sorry again... I would have loved to meet you all...

    Transformers alert!

There are actually four tires. There should be another tire at the left elbow if this thing has any symmetry. Sorry to be the spoil-sport!

    Windsheild

I'm going to throw another vote out there for the Cal Sci. I received mine from Magic Man on Friday and did a fair amount of interstate and side road riding today. I love it! It doesn't look quite as cool as the original equipment shield, but it is very effective. It's well worth the...

    Car Show/Open House

Tallant's Hot Rods had their open house this afternoon. They invited all their customers to come show off all the hard work they had done for everyone. Although there were several beautiful rides, the Spyder received alot of attention!

    Paint jobs (avg cost)

I had every panel painted. I did this so I could change the stock black to a metallic black. Additionally, some of the panels are done in two-tone and the break points between the colors is pin striped. The pin striping was done by hand. I would have never imagined painting it like I did...

Leo Vince Pipe on Spyder- baffle in baffle out

Since pretty much every aftermarket exhaust is much more free flowing than stock: yes you have to let the computer reset. It is not difficult to do, and makes a great deal of difference.

Rear pulley Group buy? Which manufacturer?

We know that there is a gear sensor. I wonder if the computer is programmed for specific ratios? I don't know how drastically it would effect performance, but I'd hate to be the one to spend all the money and test just to find out that the computer didn't react well to the changes in ratio...
