• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Spyder Fuel Cell Mod

I think the idea is not to have to stop. But I could be wrong.

    Spyder Fuel Cell Mod

Stuart Ostroff is heading out to the "Very Boaring Rally" in Duluth, MN. I took these pictures of his 3 gallon fuel cell mod and thought the group would be interested. (He's too busy to post right now) The cell is mounted behind a Pelican case that's mounted to a removable rack fabrication...

    Mels monster windscreen

I would suggest a Laminar Lip would be a good way to add some protection on the top of the WS. It can be removed if it's hot. (HD Velcro mounting tabs)

My dealer tells me today that the Spyder factory closes for 3 weeks in July...

They only build Spyders on this assemply line. Snowmobiles, ATV's and PWC are built on other lines.

    Installed Micron Carbon Fibre Exhaust

Replaced my stock muffler at 6,000 miles with NoMagic Micron Carbon Fibre and 90 degree pipe. Looks and sounds great. Easy install. Replaced gasket but the old one looked good. Attached picture shows the installed can. Talked to NoMagic about the discoloration at the front of the muffler. He...

    FIRST SERVICE -- Many Questions.....

How much did the 6,000 mile service cost? They do a valve check at that service, correct?

    Gas mileage with mods

I don't know about the rest of your mods, but putting 93 octane in an unmodified (stock compression) Spyder is a waste of $$. No performance improvement will be gained by using hytest in an engine designed to run on regular (87 octane) BTW I get about 36 MPG running on backroads @ 60-70. My...

    What's wrong with this picture(s)?

I filled up yesterday and got 36 MPG on that tank. I've ridden to Valouurt and back (1,900 mi) and have 5500 miles on the bike now. NEVER had less that 34MPG.

    New style rear tire

They appear to have made the switch in the 500-700 PE number range. I have asked the Spyder Team why. No response yet.

    Auto-Matic . . .

I drove one at a factory demo. It's sweet. You have to push the button to upshift but it will downshift on it's own if you don't manually downshift. No clutch on the left handgrip or grear shift lever at the left foot.

    Garmin GPS

You may want to remove the unit from its mount and check the operation while using it's internal, battery power. If your hardwired, circuit is "switched" and the battery is not up to standards, you could experience a "cold" start every time you turn on the ignition. Just a thought.

    Wrapping the exhaust pipes?

After returning from Valcourt in 95 degree heat for 10 hours, I wrapped my left side pipe as far as I could reach inside the panels and the result was impressive and immediate. I did get a short period of "smoke" as the wrap seasoned itself. Now, the heat rising out of the top left body panel is...
