• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Battery tender

I use the Optimate 4 battery tender and like teh previous posting I use it only when I am not going to be riding the spyder for a while or have the sptder in storage for the winter. The Optimate 4 supplies you a connector that attaches directly to the battery and stores under the seat that...

Is it windshield v. full face helmet????

I was getting quite a bit of head buffeting with the BRP stock windshield. I upgraded to the larger touring BRP windshiled abd this did reduce the buffeting a bit. After listening to many I finally orderd a larg Calsci windshield. The older I get the more the buffeting and wind noise bothers me...

How to combine running and brake lights?

I would check with the guys from No Magic Neon. They are by far the most knowledgable about the electrical of the Spyder. Better yet get the NMN Triple Play.

    GPS RAM Mount

I mounted my GPS using the RAM ballmount dead center of the console attaching the RAM ball mount on the top plastic that covers the pull out reminder card. I did have to remove the pull out card so that the mounting bolts would not be a problem. While the top plastic section does appear to be...

    Kuryakyn Grips and Throttlemeister

This is for Lamonster or anybody else that has made the modification. I am going to be buying a throttlemeister and want to use Kuryakyn ISO grips. I know Lamonster had to modify the grips to get the throttlemeister to work on his spyder. Exactly what had to be done to the grips tp allow them to...

NMN Triple Play and LED Tail Light

Well I bit the bullet and spent the money on teh NMN Triple Play and the LED Taillight. The product is by far one of the best aftermarket products so far. The installation instructions were perfect. Truthfully I think it took me longer to unscrew and screw back in the 7 torx bolts that hold the...

Bruce aka Director yes I am just east of Toronto in a town called Ajax (between Pickewring and Whitby). I got my 2008 SE5 from Bennet Power Sports in Whitby and use it primarily for transportation from home to where I work in Newmarket as a firefighter. I think I can count on two hands the...

"the other site" - please explain the taboo

Hey everybody thanks for the providing me the "understanding". You can judge a person by what he says, what he does and what other people say about him. Based on what I have seen The Lamonster do with his bike, this forum and the knowledge has has passed on to the Sypder family and what others...

"the other site" - please explain the taboo

Being a relatively new owner of a spyder (Aug 2008) and with just a few postings on this forum I am struck by the number of members who make reference to "the other site". With no malice meant to Lamonster or the incredible work he has done with sypderlovers.com, which by the way I check on a...

    SE-5 SHIFTING PROBLEMS

I took it into my dealer back in October and was told that after conversations with BRP that BRP was aware of teh transmission probloems and were working on a solution. They (BRP) also sent my...

    Child car seat

It seems to me that perhaps this junior member of the forum is not deserving of any further responses from any of us who do have some semblence of common sense. Perhaps his circular logic and his continued defence of the idea is just his way of "stirring the pot" so to speak on the forum. I...

    Child car seat

My occupation is that of a professional firefighter. I have been to too many accidents, both car and motorcycle, to count. More times then not the accident is as a direct result of the neglegence of the car driver or the motorcycle rider. My only comment to you and please forgive me if I...

    my spyder mess

I have a 2008 SE5 and experienced the sticking gear problem. After talking with a BRP service tech on another forum I learned that BRP has a fix for the sticky gear problem. The problem seems to be related to problematic clutch rollers. BRP shipped out different clutch rollers and I had the...

Indoor cover - pros and cons

Having just put my 2008 SE5 away for the winter the question that comes to mind deals with indoor covers. Is it absolutley necessary to cover the spyder while stored in an attached unheated garage (family room over the garage) over the winter. What function does the cover actually perform other...
