• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Gas Gauge

One owner posted on line that he ran his Spyder until he ran out of gas. Had a gallon with him, put that in, plus 5.3 gallons more for a total of 6.3 gallons. One factory rep at AZ bikeweek told the test riders it is a 6.5 gallon tank. Previous publicity of 7+ gallons was erroneous.

    CLEANING THE SPYDER

I rinse, use a gentle car wash liquid (available by the gallon for cheap) in a bucket of water, an imitation sheepskin mitt, rinse and use soft terrycloth towel rags to dry. Works great. Cheap. Simple. Quick. And did I say cheap?

Rocketlady, You mentioned undoing the strut when you attached the bag to the seat. Was that so you could run the straps above the strut, or ??? Thanks!

...bracing for the "freak of nature" comments... While in Phoenix this weekend I shopped at the best helmet shops in town. I'm needing to replace my 8 year old XXXL Arai Signet - which has caused me a headache and a hot spot on my forehead for all of these years - in spite of working to...

Got any long trips planned for the Spyder?

Just did an short overnighter to Phoenix for AZ bike week - 475ish miles R/T. Planning an early June road trip to Wisconsin. That will be a minimum of 4,000ish miles R/T - if I do all super slab, which I will not do. I plan to do as many scenic routes as possible over the 3 week trip.

    touring

I'm planning a 6k + trip in June. For me, after 2k + on my Spyder; I have and like the riser, I have and find the touring windshield almost useless*, and am seeking an alternative, I love the leg/peg position and will not be getting highway pegs (I think), I find the stock saddle to be very...

    Helmets

Do any of you know of any brand besides the Nolan that has incorporated a quick release for the chin strap? Nolan's is high quality, works great and even looks good. My only problem is that my head is too big for their XXL helmet. I have limited dexterity in my fingers on my left hand, so I...

    hindle muffler is comming

I don't mean to sound preachy, but as much as I like the sound of louder pipes (had excellent sounding Vance & Hines on my last bike), I'm going to keep the stock pipes. That is, unless someone makes a good sounding pipe that includes the cat converter. It just does not feel right to me to undo...
