• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    New Performance Air Filter System

Here's my thoughts, I like the Evoluzione Race set up better. 1) it allows for more air to be pulled in based on the design. I think the Race air will better pull colder air from the upper vents on the panels. 2) The race air takes the pcv line and distributes the oil mist evenly back into the...

    Long Island Riders

Hi, Does anyone know if there is a Spyder Riders Group for Long Island? I have been riding my :spyder2: for weeks now and I haven't seen another :spyder2: anywhere. If there is any interest, I would be willing to start a Spyder Riders Chapter on Long Island with planned rides and...

    oil in the catch can...

With the evoluzione Race filter you actually run the breather hose into the throttle body. Any oil that comes from the motor is split between the cylinders and burned off. At 500 miles I checked the plugs and they are perfect. I guess the trade off is a little more noise and performance, instead...

    Tabulation

Thanks good info. Keeping my own file on trouble shooting as we don't have a dealer anywhere close.

The lack of counter steering on the Can-am throws you off a little when you jump back on the two wheeler, especially my 03 chief wide handle bars and 800lbs

    Tabulation

Why do you think the GPS would have any effect on steering? are they wired into the same board? I would hope something like the DPS system would have it's own isolated control board. On the positive side an 08 with 55K gives me confidence:2thumbs: that my wife will have a potential trouble free...

    Tabulation

Bought a left over 08 model in 8/09. I bought in in Wisconson and they stated it was updated with the first flash that was available at that time. Actually they stated all updates were done but the emergency brake would stick, so they stated they needed to update to the new spring, so who...

Let me just say I'm not happy either

First off there is no reason to consider shutting down the site. Information whether good or bad is still information. Secondly people should not be asking Lamonster if their spyder is safe to drive. This is a decision based soley on an individuals gut feeling. Since Lamonster seems to have...

DPS Problems, We Can No Longer Ignore "The Elephant In The Living Room"

Two questions is the steering electronic, and if it is, is it motor failures or electronic board failures

    19 MPG ?!?

I have a SM5 2008. With Cold air race intake, Juice Box, and Hindle exhaust. Riding two up the bike is averaging between 30-34mpg. Unless you are in a really cold area that switched over to winter fuel already your mileage is very low. Also don't waste your money on 91 stick with 87. The ECM...

DPS update #2 vent hose request

I did my own vent tube because there isn't any dealers close by. I ran mine along the fuel tank and exited it along the rear left side vent. This way any fumes are away from where you sit and if somehow it purged fuel it comes out where nothing is hot.

    Race Airflow System or Not?

Same here race Air flow system, I agree with everything above except I don't hear the noise :2thumbs: Actually I'm gonna re-think this, I put the system on my wifes bike at one mile on the odo. I did ride my dad's in florida which was probably quieter. Mine reminds me of a quad when I'm on it...

    Race Airflow System or Not?

I run the cold air intake and don't feel its loud at all. In fact I don't hear anything from it over the Hindle exhaust. With the cold air race system, JB box and hindle my plug reading is perfect. Bike runs like a dream and no rpm glitches or stumbles, plus the box make everything easier too...

    First Oil Change

I do the heat and cooling cycles, I also run about 7000 on the shifts after 100 miles. Most people don't realize it but the engines are run at the factory to redline then checked for compression and leaking.

Okay, thanks guys:thumbup: just wanted to check on my Triumph and my Indian I never had any residue.

    First Oil Change

Did my first oil change at 300 miles. There was 1/2 a green pea sized amount of gray looking paste on the magnetic drain plug. I would assume this is break-in material from the engine and clutch. What is usually considered a normal amount?
