• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Evaluations: Evoluzione Swaybar

Sometimes when I try to accelerate while coming out of a corner the Spydie kind of sputters on me. From what I've read on here, that's probably the nanny, and a swaybar may help reduce that. So, I have a couple of questions about swaybars. First, do they really improve handling by a noticable...

New ways to tax your driving/riding/ryding

Bicycles cause wear and tear too. Especially with those skinny tires that concentrate the weight. They'll have to have RFID chips or something to track their mileage. I guess sneakers will need them too - afterall, we have to make the people who use the sidewalks actually pay for them.

Bar Riser Question (no, not where to buy them)

Maybe a set of these on a Spyder? I'd like to see that... :roflblack:

Why are there wires in the seat?

OK, thanks all. This makes me wonder: The one thing I don't like about riding the Y is the seat position. I find it most comfortable to sit back a little, so my but is right on the hump that separates the front/rear of the seat. I've thought about getting the seat re-upholstered to take out that...

New ways to tax your driving/riding/ryding

Our government is actually looking into the feasibility of tracking every vehicle on the road by GPS and charging you by the mile driven, and possibly by the roads taken and time of day you drive. http://money.cnn.com/2011/05/18/news/economy/gas_tax_drivers/index.htm?hpt=T2

Watch out for this guy !!!

Yup, the kid decides that his car is a tool to be used to endanger other lives on the road (the MC’ist and anyone else nearby) because he didn’t like being passed, and he appeared to feel no remorse about it. This kid is a freakin' psychopath. And yet the judge will let him drive away after...

Why are there wires in the seat?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I did a search and couldn't find it. I was looking around under my seat (2009 RS/GS) today looking for my rear brake wires and noticed that there are two different sets of wires going in/out of the seat. Why on earth are they there? It's not like the seat...

Watch out for this guy !!!

Makes you wonder how many 'accidents' where the cager 'just didn't see the motorcycle' were really intentional, but the driver was actually [just]smart enough to pretend it was an accident.:(

    Micron Exhaust

I hated the stock pipe - it makes your 1L power plant sound like a sewing machine. I tried the HMF, and liked the tone, but found it too loud for my taste. I have the 2Bros single can now with the core silencer. While it is a tad better than the HMF, I still find it way too loud. I like to...

    Locating Brake Light Wires

I'm installing a brake light modulator on my Spyder. I need to find the main wire shortly before it branches into two and goes to the two different brake lights. Any suggestions where to look, before I have to pull all the rear body panels off? BTW - If it matters, these are the...

    Can Am Leaning Trike Patent

I don't care what they cost. Given what I guess they weigh, and that one skinny little tire up front, I wouldn't dare to do any aggressive cornering in one of these.

    Does The Part Exist ???

I understand what you want. I just posted a little while ago in the thread about leaning trikes that I took my first real hard aggressive turn this past week. The Spyder stuck to the ground flawlessly, but the g-forces threw me 2/3 of the way off the seat. I don't think the solution is to lock...

Wheel adapters for RT and RS

I hate to betray my naiveté, but I don't get it: what are these even for? Even the ebay site isn't clear. It may be a great product, but sometimes you have to educate potential consumers.

    Can Am Leaning Trike Patent

Granted - no vehicle is ever a 'good investment'. I was just thinking that if I wanted to sell my model to buy the new leaner, there wouldn't be much of a market. If it does take 5 years then no problem - I'll just try to use her all up by then... However, some other posters have...

    Can Am Leaning Trike Patent

I just get a Spyder, then you improve the technology to make my new toy obsolete? Arrgghhh! http://www.collegehumor.com/video/6348675/early-adopters-through-history This could kill the resale market for exisiting Y's. It just doesn't pay to be an early adopter.... Then again, lots of things...

    Brake light modulators

Yes, very easy indeed. However, won't you have to shell out $85+shipping for a new bulb everytime one burns out?

If you have a Tomtom..better watch out.

They have no idea where you are. The device receives signals from multiple satellites and triangulates your position using those signals, in reference to the stored maps. Pure one way communication. Smartphones are different because they are always in contact with local cell towers. Thus, you...

    3 wheel scooter

Wow - 8HP - wooo hooo!!! Really, what is the point of this thing? The Spyder offers some advantages over 2 wheels if you're going to ride moderately hard (or more) sometimes, but if you're just going to put back and forth to work, why not just get a regular scooter? Worse yet are these...

    Spyder vs other trikes

Of course we are all biased here, so here is MHO: conventional trikes are unstable, unsafe, and unsightly. ;)

If you have a Tomtom..better watch out.

But 10mph over is what you're supposed to drive. they assign speed limits assuming people will generally drive 10 over. I've never gotten a ticket going 10 over. 12 over, however...
