• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Vertika boards + audio

Awesome looking stuff! Do they allow your feet to be positoned forward a minimum of 16 inches? And, do they allow for moving the oil tank out a couple of inches to make room for your left boot? I can't tell from the photos. I didn't even know about these boards, and probably wouldn't have...

    Greasing tip

No, but mine was, anyway. Made it much easier, I'm sure. Being 90 deg. fittings, the new ones will be difficult to start, out there at arm's length, and, though mine lined up OK, for popping a grease gun on, there's always the potential for either leaving them pointed in a difficult direction...

    Greasing tip

I don't know about the when, but the how isn't too hard, especially if you use one of the 90 degree adaptors like the one above, or if you change all 8 grease fittings to 90 degree fittings, like I did. They can be found at Ace Hardware, and they're 6mm X 1mm pitch thread. Now, as to where they...

Just for WIW. My floo-boards and related mods. (Without Pics)

Lookin good, Willie. I can't tell if your left board goes all the way forward, to the oil cooler? Is your shifter reversed? And what are you doing to get clearance for your shins, behind the side panels? I've cut mine out, on the inside/top, but haven't made new mounting brackets, and haven't...

Has any one found good replacement Spark Plug Wires

They're in, and - TA-DA, the Spyder's running just fine! Thanks again, Ron. I hope you sell a set for all 30,000, or whatever, Spyders that are out there.:bowdown:

Just for WIW. My floo-boards and related mods. (Without Pics)

At some point in time, I'll have pics on what I've done, but for now, just let me descrbe what I've done, up to this point. You'll see the start of this little discussion in another thread in this forum. I had found the RS riding position to be un-livable for my 71 year-old bones. I knew that I...

Has any one found good replacement Spark Plug Wires

I could have sent Ron a PM, but, just felt that I'd join the many who have sang his praises in this thread. Just got my wires and plugs, today, and they sure look good. A week ago, I'd never heard of BajaRon, nor read a post in here, that I remember. In just a few hours of getting on the site...

    This may seem dumb; but....

OK, Mike, here's the thing. I'd love to take a few shots with our digital video, or phone, etc. and post them on here, but I ain't not computer guy, just know enough to do a little gabbing on here. So, if you have the patience to try to walk me through it, I'd sure give it a try. Do it in a PM...

    This may seem dumb; but....

My shifter has been reversed since early Summer. Extended by about double, too. I made my own floor-boards, locating my feet about 18 inches forward, and requiring that I relocate the oil tank outward about an inch-and-a-half, and routing the oil line down and under the floor-board. Shifting...

I have no idea what this does...Anybody?????

Sorry about the double-post. I noticed that I had some unwanted "hash" near the end, when I had clicked on submit, and went and edited it out, not realizing that it would automatically disappear. The old chizzywig syndrome.:yikes:

I have no idea what this does...Anybody?????

After much deliberation, I have come to the following conclusion.<BR>*It's the ding-damper!  You know; the one that hangs over the kahooter, and shuts off the pernogerator, thus, creating the opposition of a chizzywig, which is the main object in the first place, isn't it?  >*This piece is...

I have no idea what this does...Anybody?????

Are you talking about the little rocker switch on the front of the throttle box?; The one that runs your high beams for illuminating your frunk, when it's open in the dark? Just a thought. I'm probably wrong, as usual. DW

Need help with poor running RS.

Thanks, folks. Ordered up and paid for, wires, and plugs, last night. Hopefully, Ron will have them coming my way, soon. I'm not going to start it up again, till they're installed. I really like the looks and sound of what he's doing with his kit. Looks like a lot of us are jumping on...

Need help with poor running RS.

Thanks, folks. I'm thinking more, and more that it's the wires. I've been in there a lot, while checking the valve lash, among other things, and the first time I pulled the plugs out, the wires were just about glued in there! Doubt if the plugs are bad, already, since there's only about 150...

Need help with poor running RS.

Well, well. I just happened onto the "new plug wires" thread! Haven't read through it yet, but just maybe there's something in there for little-ole me. Time will tell, but anyway, I'll take all the help I can get. Dick Wells

Need help with poor running RS.

My Spyder started acting up, back about mid-Summer. Would start fine, run well for a couple of miles, then start to skip, and run on one cylinder. Ended up, one day, coming back from accross our town, running on one cylinder, with about two miles to go to get home, and I was just nursing it...

5th wheel extender to haul Spyder

Where there's a will, there's a way. We take our RS everywhere we go, and we're full-timers, living in a 33' Montana tag-along. I drive an 03 Sierra Dura Max, crew/long bed, and the all-up weight is a little over 20,000 lbs. The Spyder gets winched into the pickup backwards, so that the rear...

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

We've been without WIFI for two weeks, now, and couldn't keep up with the new aquaintances we met at Spyderfest. Got a lot of catching up to do on this-here computer, so, as a quick start, just let me say thank you, once more to Lamont, and Len, and Rick, and all of you who made that event...

Y! pipe gasket replaced - what a difference

A quick test ride by a Cowtown tech, and I'm told that the "Y" gasket is leaking. A short hour later, and the RS is both quieter and smoother. Seems to me that the thing has been that way since I picked it up last July with only 683 miles on it! I had suspected that my byke was...
